It's #MenopauseDay so here's a throwback to #IWD2024 when Summer All Year Long (particularly #JulietDesailly) set #chloebalcolmb's poem Gutsy Menopausal Woman to music.
Menopause THE Anthology is still available if you'd like to wander through our webshop.

Celebrating #InternationalLesbianDay here's a quick film from last night's London Launch of UP//ROAR Poems of Queer Resistance, with @remilyhay reading 1984: I Join the Civil Service.
latest update of Adobe Premiere seems to have done something to the captioning, (only recognises AND and THE!!) so text is as follows...
‘Don’t worry, the only thing they care about is if you’re queer,’
he says. You really are not meant to be here,
is how I hear it. I cannot tell if he thinks it’s a joke
or if he sees through me. I may be translucent,
every organ in my body pulsing through the skin,
every blush. I can only protect myself with silence;
remember never to be angry, never rise to it.
Walk out over lunch for a walk in the park,
three times round the lake, since she stared straight
at me, meant it as a wind-up, said she would not share a room
with one. But we are sitting desk to desk in here, face to face.
She reads me. She thinks it’s funny.
The man next to me could tell me some.
The jokes about his skin have lost their shine.
If he replies, he’ll do so in Ashanti on the phone.
I look between the lines. I listen. He can sum it up.
‘No dogs. No blacks. No DSS,’ when he came.
and here we are still. We survived. Some of us, that is. by @arachnepress

A pride of UP//ROAR: Poems of Queer Resistance poets after the pre-launch of the anthology at @keatshousemuseum! Thanks to all of them for reading, to the audience for being so supportive, to the Summer All Year Long choir for their singing, and to the wonderful Keats House staff for being so lovely!

Many more poems and poets will be at the official FREE online launch at 3pm this Sunday (National Coming Out Day) – see the link in @arachnepress’ bio.
