People often ask me why I teach. This is my why. Creating lasting friendships with wonderful people like these. It gives me an immense sense of pride to see them excel in their careers, reaching ranks of consultant and professor. To hear that my teaching played a part in their journey means the world to me. It was my pleasure to accept their invitation to speak at their first international conference and I am deeply grateful for their kindness, generosity, and unmatched hospitality. It was also a great honour to share the stage with one of my mentors, Dr Phillip Mitchell; a living legend in the field of endodontics, who has trained hundreds of specialists to the highest standard over the years. My experience in Riyadh was truly magical, and I feel incredibly blessed to call such kind and lovely people my friends. To my dear friends, thank you for welcoming us so warmly into your beautiful country, introducing us to your wonderful culture, generously hosting us and for the sweet, thoughtful gifts. Retreatment ft. post removal through crown 🎣 Interesting case with calcification, ledges, previously overprepared coronal distal root and nice curves 🪃 Ideally one would remove the crown first for full restorative assessment and ease of removal of the metal screw post, however in this case both patient and referring dentist preferred to replace the crown after healing was confirmed. The margins were sound so I obliged 🫡 Post was loosened with a blend of ultrasonics and unscrewing but was buried in quite stubborn old school polycarbocylate cement so needed dragging out with an Endo-cowboy wire loop 🤠 John Wayne would be proud… taken in Dubai, United Arab Emirates by @aramendodontics

Single visit treatment of an UL5 with apical periodontitis 🎯 ⁣ ⁣ If an unrestored tooth like this becomes necrotic the most probable reason is a crack or microcracks - even if not clearly visible as in this case. ⁣ ⁣ Post-op management:⁣ ⁣ ➡️ manage parafunction: splint +/- masseter Botox & chill 🧘🏼‍♀️ (most challenging element)⁣ ⁣ ➡️ occlusal adjustment - can consider flattening a prominent cusp of an opposing tooth that may have caused any obvious cracks⁣ ⁣ ➡️ full cuspal coverage onlay. 💥 EXTERNAL CERVICAL RESORPTION 💥 ⁣ ⁣ 3 rooted UR5 with distal portal of entry (POE) at crestal level managed through internal approach 🎯 ⁣ ⁣ The damage was mainly internal and the interesting thing about this case was there was a lot of bony like replacement tissue interspersed between the lacunae of resorption making visualisation and removal that little bit more challenging. ⁣ I chose an internal approach here as most conservative.⁣ ⁣ Resorptive and replacement tissue removed, distal POE identified and tissue cauterised through it.⁣ ⁣ After hydraulic obturation I placed Biodentine to cover the majority of the resorbed area including the POE followed by a composite core. ⁣ ⁣ Despite my conservative access I would recommend an onlay to protect against fractures long term given the compromised coronal structure 🦷 #specialistendodontist #restorativedentistry #dentinemunching #resorption by @aramendodontics

Thank you @talktv for having me on for a brief chat with @mike_graham25_ about NHS dentistry in the UK 🇬🇧 🦷 ⁣ ⁣ 📰 DON’T BELIEVE THE TABLOIDS 📰 ⁣ ⁣ The headline wrote; ‘just 1 in 7 dentists ONLY work for the NHS’ … this was based on a poll which showed exactly that - 1 in 7 dentists provide 100% NHS work, however it required careful reading of the rest of the article & deciphering the statistics to realise that the majority of UK dentists still offer NHS dentistry but must offer private dentistry in addition as the NHS does not fully fund for all treatments, materials, equipment, training etc. ⁣ ⁣ Please read beyond the headlines & don’t believe everything you read ☺️⁣ ⁣ #Dentistry #NHS #UK #letsmaketeethgreatagain taken in TalkTVUK by @aramendodontics
