What a fantastic day at the Langham Endodontic Study Club 🦷🔬

Huge thanks to the team for hosting and for the kind invitation. And thank you to Dr Spyros Floratos for a brilliant lecture, “Strategies for Mastery in Microsurgery – Atraumatic Concepts & Challenging Clinical Scenarios”.

It was a masterclass in how careful soft-tissue handling and an atraumatic approach make all the difference to healing and outcomes, even in the most demanding cases. I’ve come away with a notebook full of practical tips that I’m looking forward to putting into practice at my next surgery.

Great to catch up with colleagues and friends old and new. Learning from the best never gets old!

And even an interactive game show (first for me!)

A really diverse educational programme that had me stepping away from endo at points! As always, the PEERS Saturday reminded us all of the power of learning through discussion and engagement 💪🏽

Special shout out to @pinkers90 for organising a 10/10 social - the attention to detail was 👌🏽

The Original Single Cone - The dreaded Silver point

Saw this lady after having has some recent Prosthodontic rework done. She had these silver points 20 years ago in Greece and recently caused her issues.

Two Silver points removed and one bypassed distally as completely stuck.

3 canals mesially - Missed MB and MM
2 distally that join

Removed with Acteon US tips and prepared all canals with Reciproc R25 Blue. Obturated with BioRoot Flow and sealed with Admira Fusion by VoCo.

Patient happy. 2 hours of stress well worth it

It’s easier to scare a patient than to find an MB2...

There is a growing trend of demonizing Root Canal Treatment (RCT) under the guise of "holistic" or "biological" dentistry. But if you look closely, the solution to the "toxic tooth" is never simple disinfection—it’s almost always a surgical extraction followed by a high-ticket "biologic" implant.

Let’s translate the buzzwords:
- "It's a dead organ": Meaning, "I don't have the patience or magnification to treat it properly."
-"Root Cause of Disease": Meaning, "I can charge 5x more for an implant than I can for an Endo."

Don't let bad science dictate your healthcare. An implant is a great replacement for a missing tooth, but it is a terrible replacement for a savable one.
