We’re updating our hours! Arbor Gallery will now be open at the same time as the new Silver Horns Brewing Company taproom! Be sure to save this post for reference while we update all the info online in various locations. Being open during the same hours as the taproom frees the mornings up for much needed studio and consultation time for artist clients - DM if you’d like more info on consultations with me. I’m very much looking forward to getting back to creating as well so thank you for understanding the schedule shift. Arbor Gallery is thrilled to open the Silver Horns Brewing Company’s taproom in the gallery. It’s great to offer more opportunities for events here in Putnam County and the Hudson Valley area. Be sure to bring some friends and share the news with friends and family! Word of mouth is a great marketing resource! We’re still in our soft launch phase, so website and full tap list is coming. by @arbor.gallery

Forrest Sheperd Wildfire Oil on linen 14 x 20 inches Curator’s Note: Forrest Sheperd’s Wildfire is a representation of the quiet power of nature, its endurance and its longevity. The viewer shares the same scene, looking on at a distant wildfire with the deer as a companion. You’re left to interpret the deer’s concerns and thoughts as it looks on at the destruction that will inevitably lead to new growth. See Wildfire and the full exhibition at Arbor Gallery through Sunday, November 1, or explore the show online at arborgallery.art. by @arbor.gallery
Cecilia Soprano GET OUT OF FEAR Ink on canvas 11 x 14 inches @ceciliasoprano83 Curator’s Note: Cecilia Soprano’s piece, GET OUT OF FEAR, is one that speaks of growth and emergence. The face appears to have been hidden at one point, and is now pushing forward, cautiously, but intentionally. There’s a bold use of black and red which helps blend in the figure and the bird elements along with the tribal quality of the mark making gives the impression that it his is innate quality in human behavior. This is the final weekend of Nocturne & Catawampus. Visit Arbor Gallery through November 1 or see the exhibition online at arborgallery.art. by @arbor.gallery
Joann Zwolski
Searching
Acrylic
10 x 10 inches @jzwolski14 Curator’s Note:
Joann Zwolski’s piece, Searching, feels like an abstract expression of hope or despair, depending on the viewer’s interpretation, which I know the artist herself enjoys leaving up to the viewer. The bold colors can either be emerging from the dark or is it that the colors are being overtaken instead? Zwolski’s use of layering paint, and creating texture on the canvas gives the piece a depth and movement that helps guide the eye. The swath of blue feels like a clearing away of distraction, perhaps creating metaphorical clarity from the dark. There are just two days left to see Nocturne & Catawampus. Visit Arbor Gallery today or Sunday, November 1, or explore the exhibition online at arborgallery.art. by @arbor.gallery
Robert Santora NO VACANCY Acrylic, oil pastels on canvas 36 x 24 inches @santoraart Curator’s Note: Rob Santora’s NO VACANCY painting makes everything feel wonderfully askew. At first, the viewer is bright in by bright and bold colors, but then it becomes clear that everything is tilted, twisting away from the viewer. Personally, I feel like you can’t tell if you’re coming or going, but I’m guessing it’s a memorable stay either way. We’re entering the final days of Nocturne & Catawampus. See Robert’s work in person through November 1, or visit arborgallery.art. by @arbor.gallery
Matia Query Rocky Acrylic 11 x 14 inches @madronaq Curator’s Note: Matia Query’s Rocky is just the fun and quirky aspect of Nocturne & Catawampus for which I was looking! There’s a delightfully playful and childlike style in the mark making and yet just under the surface there’s still that off-putting darkness added to the bright colors on the clown’s edges that make you question its innocence. Only a few days remain to see the exhibition. Visit Arbor Gallery through November 1 or browse the show online at arborgallery.art. by @arbor.gallery
Sarah Evans Meteorite Mother Acrylic, oil on wood 10 x 8 inches @_sarahkateart Curator’s Note: Sarah Evans’ Meteorite Mother brings together the celestial and the earthly in a piece that reflected Nocturne beautifully with strong feminine energy that is both ethereal and mystical. Evans is the only artist accepted from beyond the Hudson Valley region. I usually prefer to stick to our local artists, but this piece was just too good to pass on. Evan’s has really captured the grace, maternal care and ethos of the goddess realms. We’re down to the last few days of Nocturne & Catawampus so be sure view in person or online before it’s too late!
