First completed page from Inklings. I’d been much anticipating this small book and it did not disappoint - what a joy to colour 🥰🥰. When I saw this page I just had to have the umbrella floating, so clouds it was. This beautifully drawn page by @stormseyedesign has been keeping me occupied while recuperating from a ME/fibromyalgia flare. I have completely fallen for Emma’s little gnomes, quite an achievement given I’m not that keen on the garden variety. So I introduce you to Gustav the grey and his companion Bluey. A nod to Jules @willowbiscuit for christening Gustav and being my long suffering WIP photo consultant 💜💖

This beautifully drawn page from @stormseyedesign has been my focus for the last ten days. I had such a lovely time, even when I had the dawn of realisation that finishing the page meant tackling the dreaded skin tones I’ve been avoiding forever 🙈🤭. Our darling gnome came out a little pale and interesting but I love him nonetheless. Jules @willowbiscuit and Suzanne @suzanne_wb had a little naming competition for him, so in honour of both suggestions he is now Erik Sven von Big Beard. My mum didn’t want his friend left out, so I also introduce you to Freddy the Frog 🐸. Do you think the heat is affecting us all a little? 🤭.

This beautiful page by Kristy @whimandsage is from her wonderful book A little Luna Sanctuary. It caught my eye as the perfect choice for a wedding present for two dear friends. The theme also happened to coincide with this month’s #liberationwings being held by Kristy and Sierra @innerbeautybysierra

I had a wonderful time colouring The Love Birds - envisaging the background like a mirror with the birds in front. It started with the ‘gold’ type metal finish and progressed from there. I’ve added a second photo and video (swipe left) so you can see some of the sparkly details 💖. Now onto framing it before I gift it 🥰.

A buddy colour to kick the month off with the lovely Jules @willowbiscuit for @pinky_tulio August colouring. Swipe left for her wonderful version. This beautiful zentangle image was drawn by @etsuko_kimura2 and was a joy to colour. Jules and I have been continuing our forays into coloured Clairefontaine papers with mine on turquoise and Jules’ version on dark green. No naming competitions for this one (if you know you know) but Jules and I had a great time exploring this image together 💖💜.

My July challenge from @pinky_tulio and @lytinyworlds

I went on quite the journey with this piece as my experimental phase went somewhat astray - with my clouds going horribly wrong 🫠. Things were bound to go a little pear shaped at some point 🤣. It shows how much I’ve grown as a colourist though as a rescue commenced and I still ended up with a piece I’m pleased with. A wonderful discovery was also the combination of Clairefontaine paper and Holbein pencils - a match made in heaven 💖

Clairefontaine midnight blue paper, Lafranc bourgeois acrylic paints, posca pens, coliro metallic gold watercolour and Holbein pencils.

This one is in collaboration with the lovely @pinky_tulio and @inkritual.art for the #queenpinkcoloringcollab

I decided to be experimental for this page, echoing pinky’s great attitude about trying new things. So I based with Ohuhu Honolulu b markers (Christmas present from the hubbie) and then layered prismacolors on certain sections. The remainder is gold and white pen. It was a lot of fun and only took me two sessions to complete - super fast for me!

Holiday colouring - intentions were to do more, but well, best laid plans and all that 😆. Nonetheless I love this little flutterby cameo from Inklings. Taken under artificial light to show off the gold watercolour splatter on the background and gold pen detail on the 🦋
