AI can tell you what matches.
It cannot tell you what matters.

And that’s why art is above algorithm.

In a luxury home, art should never be an afterthought — something you choose once the walls are finished and there’s a blank space left to fill.

For me, choosing art comes down to three things:

JOY — Does it move you? Does it make you pause every time you see it? Does it carry a memory or a story?

AESTHETIC — Does it have a relationship with the architecture, scale, light, colour and mood of the space? Does it belong — or disrupt beautifully?

INVESTMENT — Is there substance behind the work? The artist, gallery, provenance, collectors, period, style and story all matter.

Not every artwork needs to tick all three.

But if it ticks two, you may have found something worth keeping.

Because decor can finish a home.

Art gives it a soul.

Somewhere between putting this home together, fussing over the details, getting the aesthetics just right and bringing all the elements together, I paused at this corner.

Perhaps it was the warmth of the light, the beautiful play of textures, the flowers, or simply the feeling of the season settling into a space. It struck me how much beauty we spend our lives looking for, creating and curating.

And yet, in a world where there is always so much on everyone’s mind, perhaps what we need just as much is to turn our gaze inward.

We are so occupied with what is happening around us, what needs fixing, what needs achieving, what comes next. But how often do we pause to see what is happening within?

As a designer, I will always believe in the power of aesthetics, in the beauty of a thoughtfully put-together space, and in the little things that make life richer.

But perhaps the most beautiful thing we can curate is a little more stillness within ourselves.

A home, after all, is not just about how beautifully it comes together. It’s also about how it makes you feel.

A little moment from a home we’ve just completed and handed over. And a thought that stayed with me.

Every home holds a story, told through the spaces people gather in and the objects they choose to keep close. Here, art, light and material come together to create interiors that feel rich, personal and full of character.

Warm glows, polished surfaces, sculptural pieces and fresh florals add layers of life to each room, while thoughtful styling makes the home feel inviting and truly lived in. Step inside and discover a residence shaped around the way its owners love to live.

LTDF Design Studio is led by Prashaant and Natasha Kochhar, whose shared vision shapes the character of the studio. Bringing together architecture, interiors and a deep respect for craft, they guide a dedicated team in creating homes that feel personal, refined and made to be lived in.

Their partnership sets the tone for every project. From the first conversation to the final detail, each space reflects a belief that design should begin with thought, care and a clear understanding of how people want to live.

Some shoot days are with family !
Celebrating all of us , together , all at once ! by @architectinheels

Somewhere between the mountains of Bhutan and the silence within, I found a kind of luxury that cannot be booked, bought, or borrowed.

The freedom to choose.
The courage to be alone.
The permission to not have all the answers.

For someone who spends her days making decisions, holding things together, and wearing a hundred different hats, there was something extraordinary about having nowhere to be and no one to answer to but myself.

No agenda. No negotiations. No need to make every moment count.

Just long walks, quiet mornings, meals chosen on a whim, and the rare privilege of letting the mind go quiet.

Perhaps solo travel isn’t always about discovering a new place.

Sometimes, it’s about meeting the woman beneath all the roles we play.

And remembering that she’s been there all along. 🤍

That’s really why I built @archin.za.

Because there has never been a more interesting time to be in design.

Not because it has become easier.
But because the possibilities have become enormous.

More materials. More makers. More technology. More ideas.
A craftsperson in Jaipur. A studio in Seoul. A manufacturer halfway across the world. A new material you didn’t know existed yesterday.

And yet, finding the right thing, the right maker, the right possibility at the right moment can still feel surprisingly difficult.

I wanted to build something that makes this enormous design playground a little easier to navigate.

A place where designers can discover, connect, explore and be found.

That’s @archin.za.

Because I don’t think the future of design is about having fewer choices.

It’s about making more of the right possibilities accessible.

And perhaps asking a better question:

What do you want to make possible?
