✨ The Luminarium is open! Here’s a wrap-up of Day 1. We welcomed in our first guests, including families, schools and community groups. In our ‘Little Tent’, there was mix of colouring, folding and building happening. We were also joined by @newhammusic, for the under-5s music sessions.

If you missed out today, don’t worry as we’re open till Sunday. You don’t have to book, just turn up and queue for a short time. For more information and FAQs on the Luminarium, please visit our website (link in bio).

A few moments from our time inside the Luminarium at Victoria Park, ahead of Rawkus City this weekend 🌈

We got to chat with the performers before they stepped in, film them exploring this incredible maze of light and colour, and catch up with them again afterwards to hear how it felt from the inside. We even sat down with the designer himself to talk about the thinking behind the space.

Such a privilege to capture somewhere this special.

AD | Tonight I was invited to a special preview of Luminarium, an immersive installation by Architects of Air, brought to Portsmouth by Crying Out Loud as part of The Point is Portsmouth.

The installation is nestled in the middle of Victoria Park, and is such a serene experience, with a gentle soundscape accompanying the beautiful illuminations created by the natural light shining through the colourful fabric.

The structure has been created using thousands of hand-cut pieces of fabric, and the light shifts and changes throughout the day as the sun changes position.

I'll post some video content soon so you can get a better idea of the experience, but for now take a look at these gorgeous photos I captured. Have you ever experienced anything like it?

The installation is there all weekend, and is free to Portsmouth residents, essential carers and under 16s. They're also offering SEND/Quiet sessions across the weekend. Visit @col.creatives and @architectsofair_ for more.

Something magical happened over the weekend…

@architectsofair_ brought their phenomenal project Myriad Luminarium to Cambridge and thanks to @camcityevents and @lewisoanderson I got a chance to play the handpan inside 🛸

So many people heard the instrument for the first time in their life which continues to amaze me!

The Cambridge Handpan Community is slowly becoming a thing and I can’t wait to share with all of you some exciting news regarding our first handpan concert in Cambridge 😝

What a wonderful weekend at the @boingfestival! 🎪

This was our 2nd year and we now mark it in our calendar every year! 🥰

We had the best time exploring, watching incredible performances and discovering so many fun and imaginative things to do. From amazing acrobatics and quirky installations to colourful creations and plenty of family fun, there was something around every corner!

Such a brilliant celebration of creativity, performance and family time - we absolutely loved it! ❤️

✨ ONE DAY… SHE’LL REMEMBER THIS KIND OF LUMINARIUM MAGIC. ✨

One day at Compton Verney, and we stepped into a world of light, colour and wonder.

The Luminarium is a giant inflatable, walk-through maze of winding tunnels and soaring domes, where natural light shines through the translucent structure to create an ever-changing kaleidoscope of colour.

And it’s not just something you see — it’s a full sensory experience, with the changing light, colours, shapes and atmosphere making it feel like you’ve stepped into another world.

This year’s TERCERADIX, created by Architects of Air to celebrate 30 years of their extraordinary luminarium installations, really was something special.

But when you step out of the Luminarium, the wonder doesn’t end there…
Compton Verney has everything you need for a perfect family day out, with so much more to discover:

🌿 120 acres of beautiful grounds to explore
