Our **2-Hour Electro-Etching Printmaking Experience** is a hands-on introduction to electro-etching and intaglio printmaking, designed for complete beginners and anyone curious about the process.

Your aluminium plate will be prepared and coated with hard ground in advance, so you can focus on the most exciting part — creating your image and seeing it transform from a drawing on metal into a hand-pulled print.

During the session, you’ll experience:

**Draw → Electro-Etch → Ink → Wipe → Print**

You’ll work directly on your own 4.5cm metal plate, watch it being etched, learn how an intaglio plate is inked and wiped, and finally print your work using a printmaking press.

At the end of the session, take home your **original etched metal plate + 2–3 prints made from your own plate**.

**Etching doesn’t have to mean strong acids.**

This September, I’m opening a small-group **2-day Etching × Intaglio Printmaking Workshop** at ArchPlate Studio.

Using aluminium plates and electro-etching, we’ll go through the full intaglio process together — from drawing and mark-making to etching, inking, wiping and finally pulling your print on an etching press.

You won’t just make a quick workshop sample.

Over two days, you’ll first complete a small practice plate, then develop your own **A5 electro-etched plate and finished intaglio print**.

**DAY 01**
Learn the process → make a small plate → print your first proof → begin your A5 artwork.

**DAY 02**
Refine your plate → electro-etch → ink & wipe → proof → adjust → print your final work.

No prior printmaking experience is required.

This workshop is suitable for artists, illustrators, designers, photographers, art educators, students, craft lovers — or anyone curious about image-making, materials and print.

Join us at ArchPlate for a two-hour electro-etching experience and turn your own drawing into a handmade print.

You’ll draw on a prepared 4.5cm aluminium plate, then use electro-etching to create lines in the metal. Next comes inking, wiping and rolling it through the printing press. Lift the paper, and there’s your artwork!

Your design can be simple—a cat, a flower, or a little memory from your travels. No printmaking experience needed. We’ll guide you through each step.

🖼️ Take home your etched aluminium plate and 2–3 prints you’ve made yourself.

Come solo, bring a friend, or make a personal gift. Our regular studio sessions are private bookings, just for you and the people you come with.

Want to do more?
• Upgrade to a 7cm plate for a larger design.
• Add a papermaking experience and make your own paper too.

Please allow extra time for either option.

Currently obsessed with etching prints 👻🐈‍⬛

“Just one more colour” somehow turned into little monsters taking over the studio 😂 Ghosts in teacups, cats on broomsticks, dancing skeletons… same plate, endless colour combinations.

And that moment you peel back the paper to see your print? Never gets old.

Come make your own at ArchPlate’s Halloween special! 🎃

This is a shared group session, so come solo or bring a friend. In two hours, you’ll draw onto a metal plate, try electro-etching, ink it up and print with a printing press. No drawing experience needed — choose from our illustrated designs or bring a favourite image as your reference.

无意间在小红书刷到这个活动，完全没接触过版画的我，马上被勾起好奇心😳

老实说，一开始还有点担心学不会
但老师很有耐心，一步一步教我们，
