🎉 🥰 A year of love, joy and adventures.. Today we celebrate Shya’s gotcha day! She’s well loved by her forever family who has shared this sweet update with us:

Sassy Shya Sweet Pea, our 2025 furlough rescue! What started as a temporary foster during the government shutdown quickly became a permanent adoption. Thanks to her excellent recall, she instantly joined us as a mountain biking/ hiking/ snow buddy. Shya has bonded with our entire pack, especially her big brother Cai, our 4-year-old rescue Malamute. Training is easy when you have a big brother to copy—though she likes to add plenty of he own husky sass and volume to everything we do! We love her to pieces. Thank you, AR, for bringing this sweet girl into our lives. Here’s to a lifetime of trail adventures!

Meet Red! This handsome 3–4-year-old Husky has quite the story, and we think he might have known exactly what he was doing when he chose his own rescue!

Just a couple of weeks ago, Red was living around a trap house when he quite literally ran into a backyard of a rescue. His owners ultimately decided they no longer wanted him, but luckily, Red had stumbled into the perfect place to get a fresh start.

Since arriving in foster care, Red has been nothing short of wonderful! His foster's first description of him? CRAZY dog friendly! He absolutely loves other dogs and has a fantastic temperament. He's confident, comfortable around other dogs, and isn't afraid to politely set boundaries when another pup gets a little too nosy.

Red is also surprisingly laid-back for a Husky! He's calm, quiet, and easygoing around the house. He loves his crate, is already kennel trained, and has been wonderful with children. His foster has also been able to handle his food and take things away from him without any signs of resource guarding toward people.

How is this handsome, fluffy boy still looking for a home? ❤️ Ollie is a 5-year-old, 66-pound Husky/Malamute mix with so much personality, and his foster family has nothing but wonderful things to say about him!

Ollie is incredibly sweet, affectionate, smart, and social. He absolutely loves spending time with his people and is happiest when he's included in whatever they're doing. He's also obsessed with squeaky balls! Whether he's playing fetch or happily squeaking his favorite toy, this goofy boy knows how to entertain himself.

Ollie is also such a good boy on walks! His foster describes him as a dream on leash, even when other dogs are around. He's attentive, listens well, and picks up on cues quickly. He gets along wonderfully with the other dogs in his foster home and previously lived with another male dog. Cats, however, aren't a good match for him.

One of Ollie's favorite things in the world is going for car rides! Errands, pup cup runs, even trips through the car wash—he doesn't care where you're going as long as he gets to come along. At home, he loves watching the world from the window and keeping tabs on his favorite humans.

Before coming to Arctic Rescue, Ollie spent about two months in a South Carolina shelter after being surrendered by his previous owner. He had previously spent long periods outside and learned to be quite the escape artist, even figuring out how to climb gates! He'll need a home with secure fencing and supervision outdoors, but more than anything, Ollie wants to be inside, included, and loved.

Ollie has so much to offer his future family. He's affectionate, well-mannered on walks, great with other dogs, and always ready for an adventure. We would love nothing more than to see this wonderful boy finally find the forever home he deserves!

Meet Josie! ❤️ This sweet girl came dangerously close to losing her life at an overcrowded California shelter after developing an upper respiratory infection and being placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, Arctic Rescue learned about her just in time and was able to get her to safety!

Josie is approximately 1 year old and 50 pounds, and she's already showing everyone what an absolute sweetheart she is!

Josie LOVES other dogs! She's a social girl who enjoys spending time with her canine friends and would likely love a home with another playful pup. And one of the cutest things about her? She's obsessed with stuffed animals! Josie carries her favorite stuffies everywhere she goes, and it's impossible not to smile watching her.

We're still getting to know Josie as she settles into her new life, but one thing is already clear: this girl has so much love to give. She's young, sweet, dog-friendly, and ready for a family who will give her the happy life she almost didn't get the chance to have.

How has this adorable little boy not found his forever home yet? ❤️ Hendrix is such a sweetheart who loves everyone he meets, and at just 6 months old, he has so much love to give!

This 6-month-old, 31-pound cutie has already been through more than any puppy should. Hendrix and his sister Billie were found as strays and ended up at a California shelter with upper respiratory infections that put them at risk of euthanasia. Thankfully, Arctic Rescue stepped in and saved them both!

Since arriving in foster care, Hendrix has proven to be an absolute sweetheart. He loves other dogs, gets along wonderfully with everyone, and has even been a comforting presence for his sister as they adjust to their new lives.

Because Hendrix is still so young and has such a sweet, gentle personality, he has great potential to live with cats and children with proper introductions and guidance. He's at the perfect age to learn, grow, and become a wonderful family companion!

Felicity is looking for a home at Salt Lake County Animal Services!

Felicity is a 3-year-old Siberian Husky with a big personality and plenty of playful energy! This bouncy, fun-loving girl enjoys running around, playing, and getting lots of attention. She’s also very treat-motivated and always happy to show off her smarts when snacks are involved.

Like a true Husky, Felicity has plenty of opinions and isn't afraid to share them! She would love an active family who appreciates her goofy personality, can keep up with her energy, and will give her plenty of opportunities to play and explore.

Stop by Salt Lake County Animal Services to meet Felicity! The shelter is open Tuesday–Saturday, 10 AM–6 PM, with adoptions ending at 5 PM. by @arcticrescue

How much does it cost to say “yes” to a dog who needs help?

Sometimes, it’s treatment for parvo. Sometimes, it’s surgery, dental work, infections, or an unexpected injury. Every dog arrives with their own story, and each one deserved the chance to heal. We wanted to be there for them, whatever it took. ❤️‍🩹

Since July 1, Arctic Rescue has spent $12,378 on non-onboarding medical care for dogs in our rescue, on top of the medical expenses we’ve covered throughout the first half of the year. Some have gone on to their forever homes, while others are still waiting for someone to choose them. 💛

Arctic Rescue is volunteer-run, and community donations make this care possible. If you can, please help us be ready for the next dog who needs us. Every single dollar matters. ❤️

🐾 Meet Birdie! 🩷

Birdie is a sweet, playful 2 year old rescue girl who is learning to trust, come out of her shell, and enjoy the good life! 🥹❤️

🐶 Dog lover! She absolutely LOVES other dogs and feels comfortable with them almost instantly!

🎾 Playful & goofy! She loves backyard zoomies, tossing her stuffed animals in the air, and splashing in her kiddie pool!

🧬 50% Great Dane, 46% Husky, and 4% German Shepherd…to be exact!

🐕 Great on leash! She walks beautifully and is generally a quiet girl.

❤️ A little shy at first! Birdie warms up to women quickly but needs more time and patience with men. Once she feels safe, her sweet personality shines!

🏡 Making progress every day! She’s gaining confidence, improving her potty habits, and learning that humans can be pretty great, too!

Birdie needs a family willing to give her time and build trust. In return, they’ll get to watch this amazing girl continue to blossom! 🌸
