Happy Friday! Matt C and Nik today from 12-10. Matt thinks you should celebrate the weekend with a pour of Hop Butcher’s Grid. This Citra and Mosaic hopped west coast pale is perfect to wash down your work week. Cheers! by @aremisia

Grainmaker 2024 was once again peak good times. Gathering with friends—brewers and distillers, farmers, maltsters, industry hot shots, and their families to celebrate is a joy.

Pro tip: stretch before attempting a slip and slide, and always ride in the back of the truck to a malt field when given the chance. And maybe pack some rain gear JUST in case.

Big thanks to these guys for making it all happen:

Yoga this morning was hot, but (as always) worth it.
My sweat had sweat and my muscles did WORK. Can’t wait for the next one.

Check out Riverfront Moves series this summer for free outdoor classes to change it up. It’s a fun chance to try new classes and take advantage of our darn pretty city. by @aremisia

Thanks, friends. Let’s do it again next year?

Shout out to @varietalbeerco for hosting such a fun shindig, and props to all the breweries who brought some darn tasty beers. Major congratulations to @laddandlass for taking home the prize for best beer!

It’s been a rough few months around here. We said a goodbye to our boys, Spot on Christmas Eve, and Sylar this past Wednesday. Sylar had 17 years with us, and we think Spot made it to 16-17. It still doesn’t feel like long enough.

Sylar—my baby. Crazy for water and anything green and leafy. Best cuddle buddy. Was sure that any food needed to be shared. He moved with me to Seattle and back. Gentle giant, walnut brain. Tiniest meow in the biggest chonky body. I was never alone…he’d follow me around the house to ensure that. I keep expecting to trip on him, and I’m still surprised when there’s not a furry obstacle to avoid.

Spot-the sweetest orange boy. Friend to all people, threat to mice. He adopted us, and made wherever we were his home. His purr was loud, immediate, and freely offered. He’d join you in WHATEVER you were doing outside, and take advantage of any lap, even in 100 degree weather. He became a pirate in his last years and purred the whole way through vet trips, surgery, and recovery.

Rest easy boys. May you have all the sunbeams, chicken, and may every faucet drip just the right amount. We miss you. by @aremisia
