I’m honoured to announce that as of last week, I’m officially a VIA (Vinitaly International Academy) Italian Wine Ambassador! @vinitalyinternational This was hands-down the hardest wine exam I’ve done to date, but also an fun, rewarding journey. Big congratulations to my fellow ambassadors and friends— the hard work paid off! ❤️ A huge thank you to @sarahhellermw and @johnszaboms for guiding our cohort, and thank you to the @itatradeagency @itatradeagencytoronto and @steviekim222 for all of the amazing support.🍷 Thank you to the Coolest Video Group ever: Graeme, @justdespina and @lesleypurplelips and the incredibly talented @madzbarbosa , for the immaculate video work and always helping me not look chopped. Thank you to @terroni.to for letting us film at Queen, and for being the best home base one could ask for when it comes to Italian wine. I’ll cherish these memories and my pin forever! 🍷🇮🇹❤️ by @arezustudio

A couple of installation shots from my thesis work, exhibited at the Art Museum at the University of Toronto in 2022. The artworks and thesis text, “A Flirting- Based Practice”, were the culmination of reflections stemming from my experiences in academia as well as middle and Southwestern America over the course of 2 months spent researching (and running away) on the road. A belated shoutout post to an event we did at @laiwahheen to kick off the month of June— a dream collab with @dailo.to @ninjachef , the @chineserestaurantawards and delicious and storied @thedalmore whisky pairings. Also, a shoutout to @madzbarbosa , event coordinator and marketing/video aficionado. The event started with an original cocktail, The Peach Tree, where I infused Dalmore 12 year with a traditional Pu-erh tea and shook it up with lime juice, RinQuinQuin, and vermouth. Then we made our way through 4 different neat pours escalating to the King Alexander III, as well as a medium oloroso sherry, and a tawny port. A fun, warm, boozy, and inspiring night for which I’m forever grateful!! 🍹🍹🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃 by @arezustudio

For International Women’s Day, we’re highlighting a wine made by trailblazing Hong Kong–born winemaker Jade Gross.

This Tempranillo, grown from 36-year-old bush vines rooted in limestone soils, is vibrant, rich, and beautifully expressive. Savoury notes of tobacco, leather, and chocolate reveal its depth and development.

Jade Gross, a Hong Kong–born human rights lawyer turned chef turned winemaker, brings her remarkable journey and craft to life in this masterful bottle.

With its bold structure and savoury character, it pairs beautifully with rich dishes like Wagyu.

Happy International Women’s Day!

🐎🍑From the second loop I drove around the States back in February of 2022:
1. Exploring a wash near Wickenburg, Arizona.
2. A guest ranch interior.
3. Nudie suit embroidery from the garment collection at the National Cowboy Museum in Oklahoma City (one of the greatest museums in the country, in my opinion).
4. Cherokee beaded purse, over 100 years old, from the National Cowboy Museum.
5, 6. The Chaparral Trading Post, on the border between New Mexico and Arizona.
7. Desert dry wash.

This post is mostly dedicated to Arches National Park in Utah. At that point in my life, amidst my deep depression and a*********, I’d felt the urge to end it all so frequently. When I first drove into Arches, stepping out of my car, the landscape took my breath away and choked me up. Massive, stoic burnt orange rock formations realized over millennia. It seemed bizarre to me that I could have ever taken my life for granted, that I could have made a rash decision that would have prevented me from ever seeing something so beautiful, thousands of miles away.
.
1: “Kissing Rocks”, 2022. I took this photo and realized the rocks resembled lovers when I was reviewing my documentation. It became the cover of my Masters Thesis.
2: Selfie with big rock.
3, 4: Panning the landscape at Arches.
5: Driving through the Colorado mountains at night. Another sublime experience. Turning the winding, empty roads, I stuck my head out my window whenever I could. There was an element of fear incurred both by the roads and the sheer size of the mountains— so tall I could not see the tops of them in the dark, dark night. I managed to catch this short video of the moon once the mountains opened up a little.
6: Margarita, hand for scale.
7: Another Arches video.
8: Leaving the Colorado mountains in my rear view mirror. ❤️‍🔥 taken in Arches National Park by @arezustudio
