Fascinating evening of discussion with David Profumo, Luke Jennings and John Andrews. The subject - Writing, Fishing and the Meaning of Life. Not sure the meaning of life was fully revealed, but they got pretty close. Part of the Literature and Landscape festival at the Maltings in Wells-Next-the Sea. A great event organised by Vicky and Charles Rangley-Wilson. by @arfieldfrench

An evening of sublime and thought-provoking music with Ablaye Cissoko and Cyrille Brotto at Goldmark Front Room in Uppingham. Many thanks to Mike Goldmark and his team for bringing so many good things to our town for so many years. Much appreciated. by @arfieldfrench

A little tribute to the great designers and craftsmen who make beautiful tackle for our sport : travel tying kit by Ari Hart; Traun F1 reel Ari Hart; Kineya 700 reel; Phoenix silk line; Lars Anderson fly box and beautiful net by Kazuhiro Noda. All practical items but also bring beauty and superb workmanship to enhance the fishing experience. by @arfieldfrench

Set of truncated 14/64th. Swiss ferrules. For an 8’ 4 weight hollowbuild. New “Cellhex” series. Ferrules made from 18 per cent nickel silver tube from Switzerland drawn half-hard. Very rough stage seen here, just soldered with silver solder. Will post finished set. by @arfieldfrench
