In the Global Urban Heat Media Lab, we have many topics of interest being explored and researched by our network members in their own work as well as network collaborations.

Heat and Heritage’ is one of those topics, exploring mitigations of heat via historic and indigenous architectural and spatial cooling traditions.

@argho98, one of our India-based network members reflects: “A shaded threshold between architecture and landscape - Kumbhalgarh, a @unesco site, reminds us that heritage can also be a lesson in climate-responsive design and walking.” taken in India by @argho98

As Calcutta tramways face a real threat of disappearing , these tickets turned into bookmarks are reminders of a public transit system that keeps the city moving, and moving through the city affordable.

I’ve turned them into bookmarks hoping they start conversations, about mobility, access, and what we’re choosing to lose.

If you want to buy them or send them to a friend who is passionate about public transport they’re available via the link in bio or just DM me. by @argho98

New Year means new dreams new hope 🌼
And this year imagine if our beloved trams return fully to the heart of Kolkata

Not just a mode of transport trams are a living part of the city’s heritage memories and nostalgia
Sitting by the window watching the city slowly unfold that is the true feeling of Kolkata

Let this new year bring a new beginning where this eco friendly calm and heritage rich tram service comes back the way it once was

Let us come together to preserve the history of this city for the generations to come join with @trams_of_calcutta

This isn’t Chefchaouen #Morocco…
This is #Jodhpur Rajasthan 💙
India’s very own Blue City…

Day 1 – The Blue City
• Hidden blue lanes
• Mehrangarh Fort walk
• Toorji ka Jhalra stepwell
• Old city cafés with fort views
• Evening stroll around the market

Day 2 – Culture & Views
• Ghanta Ghar morning walk
• Mirchi vada + pyaaz kachori breakfast
• Jaswant Thada
• Umaid Bhawan Museum
• sunset from the Hill behind the Mehrangarh fort
Thanks to my friend @suryanshu_jodhpur

PS:
Two days in Jodhpur felt like walking through a dream
but finding the true blue lanes is getting harder
Some parts have faded
Some areas are no longer maintained
Maybe it’s time the authorities give this heritage its deserved glow
because if Jodhpur goes fully blue
it will become a global brand
and attract travellers from all over the world

🧭 Wat Arun!
Do you know it’s possible to experience this beautiful view without booking a night cruise?

Normal ferries stop working around 6, so sometimes the only way left is to either book a cruise or have a dinner reservation at one of Wat Arun facing restaurants but that could be expensive, so here’s a really budget friendly way as an alternative for you:

Take a ferry from Wat arun pier to Wat pho, after sunset, I took this around 6:50pm, this is a small ferry and the cost is just 5 baht. The whole journey takes around 10 minutes and you can take breathtaking shots of the Wat arun.

Would you like to try this?

🌴Phi Phi Island: A Place That Stays With You 💙🌴
Honestly… I don’t even know where to begin.
Phi Phi wasn’t just a trip—it was one of those moments where you feel completely alive, free, and present. ✨
The water? Bluer than any filter.
The sand? Soft like powdered sugar.
The sunsets? The kind that make you pause and just breathe.

Here’s what I did (and what I highly recommend if you ever make it here):

⛵ Island Hopping (Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon, Viking Cave)
— Boat tours run around ₹2500–₹4000 ($30–$50). Every stop felt like stepping into a dream.

🐠 Snorkeling & Diving
— You don’t need to be a pro—just put on a mask and float. Fish in every color. It’s magic.
— Cost: ₹1500–₹3500 ($20–$40)

🚶‍♂️ Hike to the Phi Phi Viewpoint
— Yes, it’s a sweaty climb. Yes, it’s so worth it. The view looks like a postcard.
— Entry: ₹100 ($1.20)

🌅 Sunset Watching (every single day!)
— My favorite? Loh Dalum Bay. You just sit there, toes in the sand, no rush, no noise—just nature doing its thing. And it’s free.

🔥 Night Vibes
— Fire shows on the beach, music, dancing if you’re in the mood… or just grab a drink and watch. It’s that kind of place.

What made it special for me wasn’t just the beauty (which is unreal, by the way)…
It was how it made me feel:
📌 Slowing down.
📌 Smiling for no reason.
📌 Falling in love with the world again.

💫 I left a little piece of my heart in Phi Phi… and I know I’ll be back.
Anyone else dreaming of this kind of escape? 🌊
Tag your travel buddy—let’s make it happen. 🙌

Hua Hin 🇹🇭surprised me
I didn’t plan for this place to feel like magic.
I just came to spend my birthday… and stayed for the peace.

With mornings softer than silk,
sunsets that don’t rush you,
and people who smile with their whole heart.

And then came Songkran
where strangers splash away your old worries,
and laughter becomes a language.

I turned a year older here.
But somehow…
I felt brand new.Hua Hin, you have my heart.
A birthday I’ll never forget. A Songkran I’ll always remember.
Not just a destination — a gentle reminder that life can be soft, wild, and beautiful at the same time.

Promthep Cape 🌅 Promthep Cape Sunset 🌅,Phuket 🇹🇭
As the sun dips behind the Andaman Sea,
the sky turns into a canvas of gold and fire
reminding me that life, like this moment,
is fleeting… yet breathtaking.
Āramesh
Every sunset here speaks of endings that are beautiful.
Of letting go, of peace, of promises whispered in light

From the turquoise waters of Phuket to the hidden gems of the islands, drifting through Surat Thani’s charm, relaxing in Hua Hin, and dancing through the vibrant streets of Bangkok — every moment was magic. Take me back to Thailand!
