3D/Glitch spider 💙🕷❤️

Thank you so much to my good friend Xya for letting me work on this wonderful idea with them! This was a memorial tattoo a while in the making: first we stenciled and tattooed the spider in red, then once healed we added the blue spider and the black areas of overlap, as well as "atti" for whom the tattoo is remembering. I wanna take some 3d glasses to it to see if it jumps out at us! 😛

Elated to have gotten to try my hand at another illusion, and to have helped make such a cool memorial piece. I think I would be so happy to do like 300 more of these glitch/3d tattoos so if anyone wants one like this please DM me! Was so fun to work on 🥰

I'm on a work trip to Portland for the next week so I may be hard to reach but I will try to post stuff. Love you guys! 💕

What would you like to see as a glitch tattoo? More animals? Text? Landscapes? Something totally wacky crazy? Let me know!

Also added to this half sleeve we've been working on for a bit!

Embossed hexes are healed about 4 months I think? Can't wait to extend that foliage out into the gaps, these colors look SO good on my client 😍

Prompt #2 for @drawtober : "Shadow Prince"

This wasn't supposed to be the paper I did the final version on, I was just testing colors on a printed copy of my drawing and then... never stopped. That's how it goes 🎃

Drawtober Prompt: Witch's Garden

IT IS DONE! It was very fun going back to some analog art, and breaking this down into different chunks each day was both helpful for my ADHD and invigorating. At each stage of the drawing I had some new task to look forward to each day.

I'm sad to know this will be the last #drawtober and it's a little ironic to me that it will be the one that I will participate the most in, but I'm glad I'm doing it now. Tattooing has given me more tools to approach the practice of art more methodically, consistently working on projects, committing to their completion, and learning tons of new techniques and perspectives on the way I don't think I would have ever been more prepared to keep up with a month long drawing challenge than I am now, art being my career.

And participating in this reminds me of the tactile play aspects of art that I LOVE so much! Art and creation and experimenting and whatever else you call the act of Drawing come from basic human needs to interact with, interpret, and communicate our worlds and experiences. It's such a wonderful feeling getting to return to some of my older methods of creation and experimentation.

Excited to start the next drawings! I have some interesting things in store hehehe

Not-so-fun-fact: Luna moths only live for about a week 😢

Fun fact: a tattoo of a luna moth lasts much longer 😌

Thank you Ashley for the trust and letting me try some limited palettes and stretch my entymology legs!

I'm actually obsessed with bugs (when I can look at them and they do not crawl on me) can't wait to do more~ 💚🩵🖤❤️ by @ari_draws_things_

Lil seraphim banger to balance out Baphomet on the other arm (which we also touched up and added an outer ring and the Hebrew symbols to)

My client and I developed this idea together based on his love for the relationship between light and dark- how we all have aspects of us that are controlled and some that are visceral, an inherent ying and yang, good and evil in equal measure.

He likes to show this balance visually through the colors he chooses for the artwork in his arms- he has the same color-driven visual balance on the tattoos on his right and left hand as well- one has red, one has blue.

Super cool to get to add to the overall message of his body art, thanks for the trust @brandonkeypunch

I crave more strange biblical iconography custom tattoos 🙏 hear my prayer and book with the link in my bio for something like this!
