THANK YOU @sundanceorg. To the jury @azazeljacobs @nisha.ganatra @janicza, this award is so deeply felt. Our cast were denied visas to attend the festival because of this administration’s myopic and ignorant travel ban. They are in the streets as of this writing, demanding their freedom for self determination and creation. Recognizing their performances in this film buoys the idea that art in and of itself can be an act of resistance. May this be another step in widening the aperture of the western view of the Middle East and Iran.

I’ve been quietly working on a new musical with the brilliant @abdaddy based on his searing, gorgeous novel “Only This Beautiful Moment” - and now we can be a little bit louder about it thanks to this incredible grant from @nimruzofficial and @waterwell_org. THANK YOU. ایول by @ariansaleh

My love,

Today you are seven and my greatest teacher. Patience, presence, all the peace found inside the chaos of growing.

I hear so much when I listen to you and every bit of it brings me closer to the truth the universe tries to hide. Thank you for telling me about your day, for asking me questions, for telling me jokes, for asking for help, asking for dinner, for asking why we don’t go upside down while the world is turning. Thank you for calling me baba.

I love you baby girl. by @ariansaleh

Had an absolute blast scoring this film about one of the greatest to ever do it - Dawn Staley. Coach @staley05 is an inspiration and her undefeated season is legendary.

Dream process working with @lappask @sarahastaire @laurensaffa @salah_anwar and @porterdickie.

Big ups to everyone at Words + Pictures.

The public sale for individual tickets begins in a few hours over at https://festival.sundance.org/

This film was shot illegally in Iran and feels deeply, painfully resonant today.

Hope to see you in person @sundanceorg or you can watch it online from 1/29 - 2/2.
