I'd be embarassed if this kind of thing didn't happen to me all the time 😂

I feel like it isn't a real trail ride unless you have a funny story to tell. I AM thankful that Draco is so chill though. I've had plenty of dump-and-runs when I was a kid and then having to do the walk of shame back to the barn 🫣

Thanks to @tallula_macuch for showing us around the trails and capturing my shame on video. 😶‍🌫️

Happy trails, friends! 🥰🦄🌲

Low speed; high drag 🤦‍♀️

Draco is the kid at a fancy dinner sticking french fries in his nose. I'd make fun of him, but I know it wouldn't even bother him. 🙄

While he's not the hardest working horse on the block, he definitely tries hard sometimes and leaves a lot of room for laughs. I wouldn't trade his ridiculous, larger-than-life personality for a boring horse in a million years. Give me the chaos and the main character every single day. At least it keeps things interesting 😉

I love you just the way you are Draco! And don't let me convince you otherwise (when I'm annoyed 😂) Who else has a horse with "special talents?" 👀

POV: You're told you have to choose one life, so you decide to figure out how to have both instead 🇺🇸🦄

For a long time, there’s this unspoken pressure to pick a lane and decide whether your career defines you or your roots/passions do. But why pick?! People act like you can't balance your career and your passions (when career and passion don't align) without dropping the ball on one of them.

In my experience, you don’t have to put half of who you are on hold. But making it work isn't easy either. When you sit down and really look at your life, you have to decide what actually matters to you. For me, that means going out of my way every single day to hold onto both my horses and my career (to pay for the horses of course!). Do I lose sleep? Sanity? Do other parts of my life go further down the list? Yes. Yes. And yes. BUT I'm okay with the tradeoffs.

Your life doesn't have to be an either/or equation. Sometimes it's just about finding that rhythm where two completely different worlds can ebb, flow, and share the same space. Stop shelving parts of your life! Figure out what’s non-negotiable for you, accept the trade-offs, and go after what matters! ... we aren't getting any younger ... 💖😂

Arabian Sport Horse Nationals Day One snippet!

As the breeder for most of my horses, I love getting them into the in-hand classes. The Friesian-Arab cross isn't always a judge preferred breed pairing, but it means so much to me to get honest feedback on their conformation, body condition, and overall manners/presentation.

Really happy with how HS Expecto Draconis ("Draco") behaved for our class and it earned us a National Top Ten (7th) in a large class of quality horses! I was also grateful to the show officials who helped me work through the rules on wearing my military uniform for this specific class. Not the most fun to run in, but we got it done! 🇺🇸 I love to represent whenever I can!

Good boy Draco! ❤️🐉

WHY 👏 DRACO 👏

Draco is a loyal creatures of routine—if it’s midday, I expect him to be right where he always is. Literal panic moment when I only saw Savannah in the shed and nothing else in the field. Kudos to him for advanced stealth mode though 🥷

When did you spot him in the video? Does your animal enjoy giving you an unnecessary painc attack too? 🫠😂 SILLY HORSES 🙄

Happy National Dog Day to those who celebrate! 🐾🐕

Grateful for over 10 years with Titan and Luna by my side in the mud, and snow, and heat. I wouldn't trade them for the world! Though I think the horses would prefer if Luna would shut up sometimes. 😂 by @army_equestrian

Even though it's still unconfirmed what may lie at the end of a rainbow, 9 times out of 10, CPT Holly Schnader believes she'll find a horse at the end of it. 🦄

Here she's standing with her mare, Savannah, who's the mother to three of her horses. It's already such a blessing to be able to own horses, but it goes a step beyond to be able to have them since their birth. CPT Schnader will be heading to the Arabian Sport Horse National Show in two weeks with two of Savannah's babies, Freyja and Draco, hoping to capture a bit of that rainbow for some good luck in the ring. 🌈🍀

If there’s one thing I’m going to do.... it’s completely max out a 14-hour window.

My desire to cram as much stuff in a day as possible is both a blessing and a curse 😂 When given the opportunity to pack it full, I’m almost always going to take it.

This is what a ~14-hour sprint looks like: heading to the farm at 10:30 AM to horse show, wrapping things up, and immediately pivoting to the airport to head to Nashville as an @armyoutdoors rep for an event!

Are there moments of chaos? Absolutely (I am but a lit beacon for chaos 😅). Is my schedule sometimes entirely out of control? Without a doubt. But at the end of the day, I am just so deeply grateful. I get to do what I love with my horses and occasionally represent the Army on incredible trips like this!

You just do what you gotta do to make it work. ✨
