My shoulders had zero problem staying back with my AGSU jacket on.

I’m proud to not only be an avid equestrian/eventer but to also be an army officer. I got to represent both parts of my life today, at the same time, and with the support of my army team and my barn family/team.

Hi, I’m just a 50 year old equestrian Mom that decided to learn how to ride herself. Little girl dreams made reality. This Friesian beauty is Savanna, one of the horses I lesson on.
And when I say I’m a beginner, I mean it. I have spent years being a horse mom, watching my daughter ride and show. Being in the saddle myself is a totally different experience.
This was my first lesson several weeks ago as I began learning all about steering and how to walk. I actually followed my daughter and her horse around the arena.
Join me for my journey 🖤 Baby steps and little goals each week. You are never too old to learn something new.
Thank you @army_equestrian for being able to ride this beauty.

Introductions are in order!

Meet U.S. Army Outdoors Team At-Large competitor CPT Holly Schnader and her horse, "HS Expecto Draconis" or Draco. Holly and Draco compete in Dressage at United States Dressage Federation (USDF) competitions, as well as in Dressage and Sport Horse classes at Arabian Horse Association (AHA) breed shows. While most people buy their horses, Holly is lucky to have had Draco since birth! She still owns his mother (who you will meet in the future) and two of Draco's siblings.

Holly has some competitions on her calendar already for 2026, but for now is enjoying the off season by hitting the trails, working on conditioning, and soacking up quality time with her four-legged partners.

All smiles as MAJ Roberta Woronowicz and her horse, Fuerst Fargeaux, close out their competition season by earning their USDF Bronze Medal last weekend at the Poplar Place Winter Dressage Show.

The USDF Bronze Medal is a prestigious rider award, recognizing significant achievement in dressage by earning high scores (60+) at First, Second and Third Levels. Earning the Bronze Medal is an equestrian milestone, demonstrating a rider’s solid foundation and commitment to dressage, and serving as a stepping stone to the higher levels.
