Beginning of Year 3 for me, and Ring Weekend for these 5 incredible Firsties! Beyond grateful for the time I’ve had with them at West Point, and thankful we still have the year together! Charlie, Jordan, CJ, Elijah, and Claire are not only well accomplished throwers and invaluable teammates, but they are proven leaders of character that we are so fortunate to have in our Army.

For the first time in 28 years…the Army West Point women go BACK TO BACK as Patriot League Champions! Our women’s throws group had a vote in the outcome with 9 Q’s to finals, 39 points, a meet record, and 3 medals🥇🥇🥈 to help win the meet by a total of 4.25 points…It took everybody in a phenomenal team effort across genders. Our men scored 36 points with 7 Q’s, and 2 medals 🥇🥈to help the men’s team to a runner-up finish.

I couldn’t be more proud of Army Throws, our Track & Field program, and our coaching staff! Honored to be here and help bring another championship to the world’s greatest leadership academy. taken in United States Naval Academy by @armythrows

Army West Point Track & Field Awards Night!

So proud of our group and everything they have accomplished. At 28 throwers, we must be one of, if not the largest, Division I Throws group in the country. None of it would be possible without our Firsties/Seniors Robby Manse, Jacob Bowersock, Sara Sahadi, and Kiana Emerson leading the way.

Robby Manse and Jordan Hecht won Men’s and Women’s Team MVP based on points scored throughout the season. The productivity, availability, and competitive excellence they have shown across multiple throwing events is extremely rare in our sport today. It reflects our team first culture and emphasizes how selfless and unselfish they are to do what’s necessary for the team to win instead of specializing or chasing individual accolades. The work is not finished with the Patriot League Championship and NCAA’s in the coming weeks. I can’t wait to see what we continue to accomplish together.

Performer(s) of the Star Meet for @armythrows:

The TEAM!

When our group was projected to lose 3 events and lose the Star Meet by a small margin, I challenged our group to go 8-0 and sweep the Star Meet throwing events. Winning 8 events is extremely unlikely in an environment that competitive and talented, but we were coming to fight. For 8.5 hours, from 1000 to 1730, the goal was to go 1-0, to 2-0, to 3-0, 4-0, 5-0, 6-0, 7-0, and finally 8-0. I’m not sure it’s ever been done at this meet. They accepted the challenge and took it upon themselves to dictate the outcome of the meet. We ALL showed up to fight. Whether you were banged up, injured, entered into the meet or not, you came to compete and support your teammates. Marks are meaningless at this meet. Just win head to head. Beat the Navy competitor next to you, bring points back for your team, and see where the dust settles. It’s the best event in Track & Field. Competing to win for your team, and not yourself, drives high performance.

As future officers and leaders of the United States Army, our culture and the lessons learned matter. These battles might not always happen on the fields of friendly strife. Show up to win the fight. Always.

The women of @armywp_trackxc beat Navy 108-95 and won the Outdoor Star Meet for the first time in 12 years…The men took it down to the 4x4, coming up just short 103-100. The cadet-athlete, Officer, Staff, and Faculty support was UNBELIEVABLE. Shea Stadium was packed and electric.

I’d take my team over any team. Honored to be here. Go Army! Beat Navy! ⭐️🫡🇺🇸 taken in United States Military Academy at West Point by @armythrows
