“The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity.” - Amelia Earhart

As of this morning, I am verbally committed to throw for USMA West Point!

With the conclusion of SLE 2026, I’m confident that I’ve found my home. West Point is one of one, and family means something here.

This is only possible through my savior who, through his redemption, paid the price for me to live and pursue my dreams. Praise Jesus!

I can’t quite describe how thankful I am for every coach, every teammate, every friend, and my family who have brought me so much support throughout my career so far. I love and appreciate you all!

Wearing the Army jersey has been the greatest honor of my life. Only those who wear it can fully understand how heavy the jersey really is.

It’s difficult to put into words what this team has meant to me, and ultimately what throwing has done for me. From @coach_cusick taking a shot on me freshman year, to @coach_hershberger developing me into an Army Thrower, and to @coachwoodbury_westpoint ultimately forging me into the best version of myself holistically, I’m forever grateful for these people (and teammates) for investing their own time into helping me figure out who I am.

Maybe at the end of the day, throwing a ball far wasn’t all about the medals, the championships, the results, the distances. Maybe, it was about the people who along the way taught me life lessons that I will hold onto for the rest of my life.

Thank you Army Throws, CBA Throws, and all who believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. It’s been an honor to share the ring with you.

Cheers.

UCL reconstruction complete!

So thankful for everyone that has supported me in and out of this first picture. Couldn’t ask for a better family. Love all you guys.

This injury is often a heartbreak for many throwers like myself, and I won’t pretend for a second that hearing the news wasn’t heartbreaking. But what this has also taught me is that my love for this sport was never about my ability to throw. It’s about every single one of my teammates past and present. These people are what make me get out of bed every day. Whether it’s helping each other with technique, something personal, or just goofing around with them, that bond and the memories we make is what it’s about. @armythrows is one of the most special groups in the world because I can confidently say that I would die for every single person in this group, and I know they’d say the same for me.

Something else I learned is the fact that life ebbs and flows @robby.manse , and there’s pretty much nothing you can do about it. Unfortunately, you don’t really get to control 90% of what happens in your life. You can boil down what you can control in your life to two things: your effort and your attitude. That’s it. One of the beautiful things about an ebb, is that it’s always accompanied by a flow.

Sappiness aside, this injury is a beautiful opportunity to reset from step zero. And I can’t wait to get after it, the right way. I cannot wait to respond to this, and become the best version of myself as a thrower and man. Not for me, but for those around me. See you next year. NDY ✌️

CDT Collin Torres is your 2026 Penn Relays Champion in the Men’s Javelin with a throw of 67.77m (222’4”)! Couldn’t be more proud of him and his journey to this point. Bringing a second gold watch back to West Point is another unbelievable team accomplishment for @armythrows.

Go Army! 🫡🇺🇸
