🚨 New Team Member Announcement 🚨

We are excited to welcome our newest team member!

Meet Suzanne, the Arkansas NICA GRiT Coordinator 🎉

She is excited to support teams across Arkansas and continue strengthening GRiT programs statewide.

✨ Fun Facts ✨
⭐ Favorite trails: Northwoods Trails in Hot Springs (especially Funguy and Holly Hustle)
⭐ Never found on the trail without snacks, usually Starbursts and Gummy Nerds 🍬

Yesterday was an absolute blast at our LRSMTB GRiT “Try Us Out” event, and our hearts are overflowing! ❤️🎉 We were awarded a NICA x She Sends GRiT Grant this season and we used part of those funds to host this event. 13 incredible girls and 7 fantastic female coaches from our teams and the NLR Trail Dogs team came together for an opportunity to build connections, ride with other girls, and learn new skills both on and off the bike, all while having serious fun.

We got crafty making awesome buttons, sported some cool temporary tattoos, and (of course!) made plenty of silly faces, munched on snacks, made ice cream floats, and rode trails together. We chatted about what NICA and GRiT mean to us and the words fun, inclusive, crazy, and sweaty were repeated several times. We even had 3 of our returning female student athletes talk about the impact NICA and GRiT has made on them. Shout out to Caroline, Mia, and Aubrey for sharing your experiences! (Stay tuned for their videos.) 😊It’s moments like these that remind us of how important it is to build an incredible community where everyone feels seen and supported. Many thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a memorable evening!

Huge thanks to the She Sends Foundation and NICA for their generous support! This grant is all about helping us get #MoreGirlsonBikes and making sure we feel seen, supported, and celebrated on and off the trails. She Sends is investing in our journey, and we think that’s pretty dang cool! @shesendsfoundation @nationalmtb @arnicagrit @arkansasmtb

GRiT GRANTS ARE OPEN!

SHE SENDS FOUNDATION + NICA GRiT

She Sends Foundation is the presenting presenting partner of NICA’s expanded GRiT grants program.

NICA is joining efforts with Kate Courtney and her She Sends Foundation to expand our collective mission of bringing more female athletes into the world of cycling. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to increasing female participation and diversity in mountain biking.
Together we can empower women and girls to break barriers, redefine norms, and make their mark, both on and off the bike.

With support from the She Sends Foundation, additional funding from the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) is available to support the development and expansion of league and team-level Girls Riding Together (GRiT) initiatives. When applying, NICA encourages leagues and teams to apply for funding focused on efforts to recruit and retain female coaches and student-athletes.

Check out more details & apply by April 15⬇️
