It kind of brings tears to my eyes to even be mentioned in a magazine that is so iconic to Texas. It has been such a great and fun ride and I’m very humbled to be able to do what I love and share what I can to those who want to learn and all of that with my family no less.

This “basic beans” recipe is my all time favorite recipe for beans. Yes, charro beans, frijoles especiales, ranchero beans, frijoles puerkos are all delicious and great bean recipes (and they get the views here too lol) but truthfully this “basic” recipe is my go to. Sometimes you don’t need 20 ingredients for a good recipe. Just a tried and true MommaTex style recipe by @arnietex

I’m always on the hunt for amazing burgers and luckily I found three at @joesburgerstx in Austin, TX. I’ve known a chef Joseph from @sanasanataqueria and he has always cooked up award winning food, so I knew we were in for a treat. The mesquite pod “Holy Mole” burger was the star of the show just WOW! and “Joe’s OG” and “Smoky Joe” burgers were also out of this world good. On top of all that, the fluffy bun is a blend of heirloom masa and local flour, I mean come on, it just don’t get better than that yall. Getcha some at @joesburgerstx 🔥 by @arnietex
