Even with my debut professional armored combat fight ended in a loss, it was both the hardest fight and the most fun I’ve had in the list. My opponent @barron_sd was formidable and came in hot with a grapple game I wasn’t prepared for. I can definitely say that I’m proud of myself, proud for giving it my all, for pushing through three very tough rounds, and didn’t go down without a fight!

I recognizing that life in the list is unpredictable, so while planning is still valuable, it’s crucial to remain flexible and resilient when expectations go awry.

As excited as I was for this fight, I had already fought in several other dueling categories prior to my profight and was feeling close to exhaustion. Before entering this lyst I had to take a deep breath, dig deep, and to leave it all field. Nothing can really describe how incredibly this road trip truly was. The drive up to Washington was pretty straightforward leaving on a Thursday and Aton a Saturday with plenty of time to prepare for the my Sunday Buhurt tournament. The day of the tournament was a ton of fun and I’ll share more about that on coming posts, but this is all about the scenic drive back home.
Rather than shooting back down from Washington as fast as possible, I opted for the longest most scenic three day drive imaginable. Monday morning started with a delicious breakfast before hitting the road, first stop Crater Lake. This has been somewhere I’ve wanted to visit ever since finding out about it as a kid in elementary geography. I’ve never been emotionally rattled like I was when I got to the top of Lookout Point. Seeing the scope and beauty of this massive volcano crater was breathtaking. Spent a couple hours wondering around made a snowman before leaving for the Air B&B where the cutest barn kitten ever awaited.
No time was waisted and it was an early start driving to Lake Tahoe for a day. This lake was larger than I was expecting, along with the city itself. Found some amazing vegan food for dinner and proceeded to wonder around the lake where I could before nightfall.
Day three and final stretch of the trip was heading to one of my favorite places, Yosemite Valley. The goal was to leave early enough to have some Curry Village pizza for lunch. What a delicious goal it was, after destroying some buffalo cauliflower pizza, it was time to wander around the valley before making the actual drive home.

An amazing shot captured during my much anticipated outrance fight up in Washington state during the Warrior Expo: Signet Slaughter. I can’t wait to share more leading up to and from this event, it simply was the best and most scenic road trip I’ve ever done.

Last day visiting the beauty that is the Sequoia National Forest. Spent the better half of the morning surrounded by giants but not before working my way to the top of Moro Rock, where views from a top there are like none other.

Day two camping in Sequoia National Forest at Lodgepole Campground. After a relaxing early morning coffee, it was off into the mountains. This journey lead me to the beautiful Twin Lakes and slightly beyond where the views were truly awe inspiring.

Day one camping in the Sequoia National Forest at Lodgepole Campground. After setting up camp and getting things sorted, it was time to hit the trails to Tokopah Falls and back. The falls were unfortunately not flowing but the scenic views surrounding the trials alone were breathtaking.

Beautiful 14.5mile sunny track up the Ice House Canyon, over the 3 T’s, down to the Boldy Notch Lodge, where a basket of well earned delicious fry’s awaited. Since the ski lifts were operational I took full advantage of shaving several miles off the trek. It’s such a different experience dangling over open ground that isn’t cover in snow but was worth being able to take in the sites of Mount Balder from the middle of the valley. Once to the valley floor it was another three miles down the road to the Ice House Canyon trailhead.

Third Baldy trek of the year, but first hike all the way to the top at 10,068 feet up. Took the Ski Hut up to the top and the Devil’s Backbone down for a total of 13miles round trip… and why yes a snowman was required to be made, otherwise the hike didn’t count.
