Trials of Gladios
10/3/26

Behold! This series of moments from my first armored combat tournament.

The road to this moment feels like a dream.
6 months ago I found and very rabidly joined the @losangelesgoldenknights and began my Buhurt training.

Piece by piece I assembled my suit of armor, all while training with sword, board, and buckler for my turn in the list.

There’ve been clashes, blood, bruises, and frustration, but each encounter has brought me to the highest light. I have already experienced so much as a part of this incredible sport and community and I know this is only the beginning.

Thank you to my team, my fellow violent nerds, for the energy you bring in and out of training. I learn so much from each and every one of you. These bonds of friendship and camaraderie mean more than you know.

Formally, I took home bronze in Longsword, and won matches in sword+buckler and sword+sheild. I am beyond proud of myself and my performance, especially with how new I am to the sport.

Took on my first fights with two days notice this weekend! Felt amazing, team placed third, and I clutched a 2v1.
Now the adrenaline has worn off and I’m finding out about all the spots I was hit
Still can’t wait for the next one
