That time @nadyaokamoto came to Arkansas for Menstrual Hygiene Awareness and talked to Shannie’s daughter and her friend about periods! Normalizing these conversations is key! We often don’t know that we’re having the same feelings and can ask a friend for support❤️

Tonight marks the WORLD PREMIERE of Openal Selectroni at the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival: a powerful story of South Carolina’s Sister Senators who crossed party lines to fight for fairness and repeal the sexist tax on menstrual hygiene products.
📍 Meet & Greet
Monday, October 12 • 5:30–6:30 PM
The Avenue — 340 Central Ave, Hot Springs
Meet South Carolina’s Sister Senators and local organizers working to overturn the period tax here in Arkansas.
🎬 7:15 PM Screening
Shorts Program: Where We Stand
🎟️ Tickets: sistersenatorsfilm.com/hotsprings
Although I can’t attend tonight, I remain committed to advocating for menstrual equity and expanding access to essential hygiene supplies across Arkansas. Events like this remind us that policy change begins with awareness, community, and courage. When we learn, we lead, and when we lead, we make a difference.
I encourage everyone who can attend to go, listen, and be inspired. Together, we can continue pushing for a future where no Arkansan is held back by lack of access to basic period products.
Let’s keep moving forward. by @arperiodproject

#HSDFF isn't just hosting the world premiere of Tampons & Taxes, we're also hosting a drive to collect menstrual supplies! Joining us are some special AR organizations: @morechances_period, @arperiodproject, @arkansaswomensoutreach, and the AAUW of Arkansas.

Come see this film--or any film--and bring a donation of period products to help women in need statewide.

Yoooooooo!
You’re invited to the WORLD PREMIERE of
🩸TAMPONS & TAXES🩸
Or How to Play the Good Ole Boys’ Club and Win

This is a documentary about “When male legislators in South Carolina refuse to repeal a sexist state tax on menstrual hygiene products, the only women in the South Carolina State Senate cross party lines to fight back.”

Come out and meet the legislators that eliminated the luxury tax on menstrual products by playing the game. As many of you know, our organization has attempted this fight and failed. We are inspired to see that this can happen and has happened in multiple states. WHY NOT ARKANSAS??
@arkansashouse
