Family Dinner by @arr0wd

One building goes up, one goes down. The two are mashed up together, forever.

My nephew asked me if I can get him a photo of a building made of an interesting geometric shape for his mathematics class tomorrow.
I asked if he wants a triangle or an octagon. Now that I think of it, who’s going to say no to octagon?! Anyway, he chose octagon.
So I went to the World Trade Center to get him some photos of the Freedom Tower.
While I was sitting there, on a bench between the tower and the twin memorial fountains, I thought about taking a pic of those as well for him. And at that moment I realized, the true art within the architecture of the Freedom Tower.
That tower combines two square shaped towers. The bottom of it is square, the top of it is square, and if you cut it open, right in the middle, it’s octagon. A perfect mashup of both. Almost as if they’re holding hands for... life.

I don’t know if you know this or read about it or thought about it yourself, but for me it was a moment of pure inspiration. ✨
