As June comes to a close, we’re looking back at the opening of Art Seeding Festival @art.seeding by @reinvention.art and @b.a.s_architecture_school

The festival brought together artists, performers, students, and visitors for a programme of artist talks, workshops, guided tours, live painting, and a site-specific performance that transformed the avenue into a space for shared artistic experience.

While the events programme has now come to an end, the festival continues in another form: a selection of site-specific artworks remains on view across @alkhayat_avenue , inviting visitors to discover them throughout the summer. taken in Al Khayat Avenue by @art.seeding

Looking back at Ode to the World — a moment-based artwork conceived by Yury Kviatkovskiy, one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Russian theatre. Created especially for @art.seeding festival, the performance transformed Al Khayat Avenue into a living stage, where sound, movement, and the audience became part of a shared spatial composition.

One of the most valuable parts of @art.seeding is the spirit of neighbourly support that brings the creative community together.

As part of @art.seeding festival, students of B.A.S Architecture Studio @b.a.s_architecture_school were awarded certificates in recognition of their participation in the exhibition dedicated to childhood’s most cherished memories.

The exhibition brought together a series of works reflecting personal stories, emotions, and moments that continue to shape our understanding of home, belonging, and identity. Through drawings and visual narratives, the young participants transformed individual memories into a collective artistic experience.

As part of Art Seeding, an Open Wall initiative brought together emerging artists and students from American University in Dubai, University of Wollongong in Dubai and other universities. Art Seeding festival offered a platform for experimentation, exchange, and public presentation.

Thank you to everyone who participated and shared their work, ideas, and energy. The project became a space for new voices and encounters, reaffirming the importance of creating opportunities for young artists to be seen within the wider cultural landscape.

One of the scenes from Yury Kviatkovskiy’s moment-based artwork showed at @art.seeding unfolded against the backdrop of the installation by Omani artist Dr. Fakhriya Al Yahyai @fakhriya.yahyai, creating a dialogue between performance, movement, and cultural memory. For a brief moment, the work became part of a live situation — not simply a setting, but an active participant in the experience itself.

Based on a ribbon forming a tunnel-like perspective, the installation draws from a traditional Omani pattern that gradually decreases in scale as it recedes into space. Through repetition and diminishing perspective, the work reveals the depth of heritage — something that may seem distant, yet remains significant and present. Reflecting on how cultural memory continues to inhabit contemporary space, the installation carries the value of tradition into the present day — opening an unexpected conversation between contemporary artistic action and inherited forms. taken in Al Khayat Avenue by @art.seeding

One of the key sites within the @art.seeding festival is a corridor featuring works by students of Beyond Architecture Studio @b.a.s_architecture_school. Conceived as a sequence of panels depicting happy childhood memories, the project unfolds through a restrained visual palette that nevertheless carries emotional richness and vivid narratives. Quiet in form yet expansive in meaning, the works explore the ways personal recollections shape students’ earliest experiences of happiness, kindness, freedom and, of course, love. by @art.seeding

As part of the festival programme, guests had a chance to watch Ode to the World — a moment-based artwork by Yury Kviatkovskiy, one of contemporary Russia’s most distinctive theatre directors. Ode to the World was created specifically for @art.seeding festival.

The artworks are still at Al Khayat Avenue, and we continue sharing the stories of the artists behind them.

Meet @_ztwins_ — brothers Yuri and Anatoly Zelensky, an artist duo whose practice began in graffiti and later evolved into large-scale public interventions and mural projects. Working at the intersection of architecture, street culture, and contemporary visual language, they create site-specific works that engage directly with urban environments and transform public space into part of the artistic experience.

As part of Art Seeding Festival, the artists created a new intervention on the façade of @b.a.s_architecture_school in collaboration with @reinvention.art — an art work developed specifically for the festival and its ongoing exploration of how art can enter the urban fabric and become part of everyday encounters with the city. taken in Al Khayat Avenue by @art.seeding
