We had the best time at the Feral Apparel Fashion Show yesterday!! Designing 4 completely thrifted and handprinted outfits was a cool challenge to take on this summer. Special thanks to our incredible models, @abby.solwin, @corbs.is.done, @nikolas.hanson, and @hannah____anderson for walking the runway and making our outfits shine! @theartsiderslax and @pumphousearts were incredible hosts, thank you for putting together an amazing day of creativity and community 💓💓

My sweet nephew is a little too young for the Feral Apparel Fashion show this Saturday, but he’s practicing his poses anyways! This summer has been a busy one! One of the best parts has been papermaking at the Boys and Girls Club in West Salem. This space has my heart and it’s been amazing to return with my art practice to teach. With funding from the Coulee Region Alliance for the Visual Arts, we have been able to go to the BGC twice a month for a couple hours to teach them the beauty of papermaking!! Our hope is to continue bringing different workshops to classrooms around La Crosse to show them the magic — let me know if you’re interested! taken in West Salem, Wisconsin by @art.xjess

Are you interested in making hand-made paper?

Please join us this Friday, May 1st for Notes to Notebooks, a pop-up papermaking workshop led by local artist and UWL alum Jessie Solberg @art.xjess . This event was created in collaboration between UWL Sustainability @uwlsustainability and the Art Department, with support from the Green Fund.

During the event, students will transform paper pulp made from used notebook paper into new, usable sheets of handmade paper while exploring sustainability, creative reuse, and the lifecycle of everyday materials.

The workshop will take place Friday, May 1, from 11:30 AM–3:00 PM in the Lowe Center for the Arts courtyard. Please enter the courtyard through LCFA Room 23 (the Sculpture Studio).

Space is limited, and you must register to participate. The registration link is in our bio.

It’s been a while since I posted about something at the Heider Center — feeling like a nostalgic baby as a return this month to showcase a whole different art than what I’ve done there before! While I’m not returning to the stage 🤣 I am so excited to invite you to @chasegentry54 and I’s first collaborative art gallery! The show will be accessible Mondays and Thursdays from 1:30-4pm at the Heider Center from Tuesday, January 13 to Thursday, February 26th!
