Our August First Friday open house is only a week away and it’s gonna be a good one! We have a new show opening in the 4th Floor Gallery by @ferrarifrei which you don’t want to miss. This show is unfortunately only up for a month so opening night is gonna be a great time to be there! We also have lots of pop ups (see @badhands.studio @jovy_rockey_jewelry @chasegentry54 @art.xjess on the third floor) and workshops throughout the building as well as the photo exhibit by @srnartsy on view in the 2nd floor gallery. And as always this is your chance to see the studios, meet the artists, and support the arts community here in the building. There’s snacks and drinks and good times to be had! See you Friday!

Are you interested in making hand-made paper?

Please join us this Friday, May 1st for Notes to Notebooks, a pop-up papermaking workshop led by local artist and UWL alum Jessie Solberg @art.xjess . This event was created in collaboration between UWL Sustainability @uwlsustainability and the Art Department, with support from the Green Fund.

During the event, students will transform paper pulp made from used notebook paper into new, usable sheets of handmade paper while exploring sustainability, creative reuse, and the lifecycle of everyday materials.

The workshop will take place Friday, May 1, from 11:30 AM–3:00 PM in the Lowe Center for the Arts courtyard. Please enter the courtyard through LCFA Room 23 (the Sculpture Studio).

Space is limited, and you must register to participate. The registration link is in our bio.

We hope to see you there!
