Exploring silhouettes, texture, and quiet. by @art_0f_caleb

I’ve been thinking about how faces carry stories we never say out loud.

These pieces weren’t just practice. They were moments.
Moments of studying light. Studying form. Studying emotion.
Trying to understand how much feeling a face can hold without words.

Every piece teaches me something about patience. About restraint. About seeing people beyond their features.

The last slide’s my favorite.
Which is yours?

VERDANT

Here’s the 5th character from the VERDANT series.

Working on this series has honestly been such a great experience. With this one, I wanted to switch things up a little, so I experimented with a different cloth texture from what I did in the last piece.

We’ve decided to do one more character after this before moving on to a completely different theme.

The next series will be color-based, and I’d love for you guys to help me decide what color to explore next.

So, what color are we going with? by @art_0f_caleb

Saw a piece I worked on last year, I thought to revisit and use its concept.

What do you think, should I make this a series? 🤔 by @art_0f_caleb

As someone who isn’t based on line art, I got some brush preset and decided to try it out (kinda, lol).

Bode-Olatunji Caleb is a Lagos-based illustrator, character designer, and visual storyteller whose practice is rooted in digital illustration and character-driven world-building. Working under the moniker @art_0f_caleb , he has built a growing portfolio and online presence focused on developing original characters and narrative concepts through expressive, design-led visuals.

His creative direction is influenced by storytelling blended with grounded cultural and visual textures, reflected in stylized design choices, African-inspired motifs, and detailed visual elements that help anchor his characters in immersive settings.

Professionally, Caleb has gained experience through commissioned character design work, freelance illustration, and visual development for both personal and collaborative creative projects.

Across his practice, he continues to balance imagination with discipline, creating characters that are visually striking while still rooted in thoughtful, intentional design.

Heyyy 👀
Long time, no see… I promise I didn’t disappear, life just said “plot twist” and I had to keep up 😅

The past few weeks have been a lot, like full-on emotional rollercoaster (no seatbelt).
But honestly, I’m grateful to God for carrying me through it all 🙏🏽

Instead of journaling like a normal person… I drew through it 🧍🏽‍♂️
And somehow, everything I felt found its way into this character.

So yeah, meet a character who’s been feeling everything on my behalf.
These are some expression studies… or should I say, emotional damage in HD 🎭 by @art_0f_caleb
