@featherstonecenterforthearts offers a place of welcome, learning and community for artists and arts supporters. Uplifting emerging artists opens doors of opportunity to the next generation of cultural voices. They are having their say about our world and the human condition as only artists can. The exhibition @risd1877 “RISD Emerging” offers a broad view, showcasing work from recent undergrad and MFA alumni. Go see this beautiful show at Featherstone Center for the Arts if you happen to be in Martha’s Vineyard in August. by @art_unpacked

The art community is finding its way in terms of presenting meaningful celebrations of Juneteenth. Thank you to the @morrismuseum for a compelling conversation exploring The Black Art economy. The panel discussion was inclusive and honest, highlighting progress, inspiration, and where we still have work to do. The call from the stage was clear: support Black Artists, Galleries and Culture. Importantly, artists and galleries were centered on the conversation. So grateful to hear from @oneilscott whose work is on view, tanyaweddemire_ and @bridgeartgallery , masterfully moderated by @dwkuhne . Go see art in person and support the ecosystem! by @art_unpacked

Congratulations to @jonathanyubi whose depictions of laborers connects historical and immigrant imagery to the evolution of the labor movement. The artist is among the artist grantees supported by the NJ State Council on the Arts. Presented as part of an exhibition in the observance of America’s 250th, the artist blends mythological narratives of agency, power and identity among laborers without ignoring the present-day struggles of this often-marginalized group. The work is on view at the William Trent House and Museum in Trenton New Jersey as part of “Freedoms Reframed” until July 26, 2026. by @art_unpacked

Glen Ligon’s exhibition “late at night, early in the morning, at noon” at @hauserwirth is a new take on the artist’s continuing engagement with language and in particular, the words of James Baldwin. In this show, multiple shades of Blue play a supporting role, pushing contemplation of the cultural, symbolical, and historical implications of the color. Ligon’s techniques in making this work transform Baldwn’s words from legibility to near complete abstraction. Congratulations to Glen Ligon on a beautiful presentation. He has built a whole new set of narratives for us to ponder. The show is up until April 11, 2026. taken in Hauser & Wirth by @art_unpacked
