Finds & Reminds partnered with the @artbeyondfoundation and @upcycleartsclt for the First Timers Market Program, and I’m so excited to have collaborated with them!✨

☀️On Tuesday, I had the opportunity to present “Market Vending 101” to the 30 creatives participating in the program over Zoom. We covered the basics, the ins and outs of vending at markets, and the things to be aware of when getting started. I shared my own experience both vending at and organizing markets, along with tips on finding markets, materials, and the things I’ve learned along the way to help these 30 participants feel prepared and confident to succeed with vending.🛍️

This program was developed through Upcycle Arts to help creatives share and sell their art at events. I’ve also had the opportunity to help create materials for their initial in-person event on August 29th, provide supportive materials as they prepare, and help with the timeline they’re following as they work toward ultimately participating in Upcycle Arts’ “Unlisted Arts Market.”🎨

🌱I am so proud of what these creatives have been working on and so excited to see what they continue to do. There is SO much talent in this group, and I truly believe you are not ready for what’s coming, Charlotte!🔥

Thank you to Upcycle Arts and the Art Beyond Foundation for bringing me into this collaboration and giving me the opportunity to share what I’ve learned from both sides of the market table with a new group of creatives. I can’t wait to see where this takes them!💖 by @artbeyondfoundation

Last week, 30 artists and makers took their first step toward our November 8 market (mark your calendars!).

Guided by six seasoned vendors (our Market Mentors) and the business know-how of some amazing teaching artists, 24 artists and makers will be selling their work publicly for the very first time.

Teaching artist and gastro-impressionist, Eliza Dunaway, delivered a priceless practicum on pricing handmade products.

Participants practiced designing eye-catching product displays and built model booths using collage materials and up-cycled fixtures.

Market Mentors shared battle-tested wisdom with their cohorts. Advice on layouts, flow, levels, and signage abound!

Teaching artists ellafae and Brianna Daniels critiqued each booth set-up and provided feedback.

First-Timers were able to take home display fixtures to use in booths.

⭐️Our community is truly incredible!

When we put out the call for donations for our neighbors at @ourbridgeforkids, you absolutely delivered and then some! Big thanks to @werockclt for partnering and organizing to bring these supplies to children of families who have had to stay at home for their safety .🙌

We set a goal of 50 bags, but thanks to your generosity and a great art donation from @upcycleartsclt, we were able to put together 100 care packages filled with art and all kinds of supplies! 🎉

🙏During tough times, it feels so good to step up. We loved packing these bags, folding up little gift bags and stamping them with a cute design (so special- it feels like a present!), and even having Winnie “help” cut things for the packages, she’s the best pup-volunteer!🐾

Don’t ever discount how you can help. Whether it’s food, art, or your time and talent, every single bit matters. Show up for your community however you can.

Huge thank you to our artist friends who got together to pack bags until late into the night.

🩵Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping us bring a little light and love to our neighbors. This is what community is all about!

What is Authentic Healing Expression?

•••

There is an authentic expression that is all yours. No one else can express things in the way that you do.

You hold the key to this way of being. In your now natural state, it is you.

People may mimic, and AI may assimilate, but what is you, the core of you, can not be duplicated, ever.

When we tune into our breath, movement, and sound to have an experience of the ordinary as sacred, playful, and peaceful…We let go of our attachments, the way we “hold it all together,” to allow our true selves the space to be.

Join me April 27,
11:15-12:30p
@clt_boom
to activate your authentic expression.

Fuel more vitality and aliveness. Enjoy a fun, healing activation to get you feeling more connected to your authentic breath, movement and sound!

An inspiring workshop with Bree Stallings! ✨We had the chance to connect and dive deep into how bilateral movement in workshops supports creativity!

We also explored planning workshops through the lens of universal design vs. experience design, focusing on making spaces and experiences more accessible for everyone.🌟

Big thanks to Bree for sharing her knowledge and sparking new ideas with our cohort!🙏

Art Beyond joined Art Walks collaboration with BRAVO Youth, spoken word artist Annie Burris and Elizabeth Palmisano for Art is for Everyone. It was a beautiful reminder of why accessible, inclusive art experiences matter. 🎨

We walked together through public art spaces, reflecting, learning, and connecting over art. Some of our Teaching Artists came along to observe and support, and we all walked away with fresh perspectives.💡

This event was mic’d up to enhance accessibility using descriptive wording. Disability Rights and Resources provided audio descriptions. It added a whole new layer, and reminded us that accessibility is so important in your creative passions.

Big thank you to Art Walks & BRAVO Youth for letting us tag along!🩵

Local creatives, I'm teaching my first adult workshop on April 5th — Sketching Characters with Identity! This session is close to my heart. We’ll be exploring how shape, gesture, and personality help us create characters that feel alive and full of story. You don’t need to be an artist, just someone with a willingness to learn who loves imagining and creating.

Grateful to @artbeyondorg, @werockclt, @pubtommys, @visartvideo, and @fftcarolinas for supporting this through the #InfusionFund.

extra thank you to @ellafaeart for empowering me to teach my first adult class with her certified teaching artist program @artbeyondorg

✨ Another amazing week with our CTA crew!

The other week, we met at one of our awesome community partner, We Rock, and had the pleasure of learning from guest facilitator Krystle Baller.🎤

We explored teaching styles, finding your flow in facilitation, and how to keep things engaging and student-centered. We broke into groups to create stop-motion videos 🎬 focusing on communication & collaboration. Our Cohort loved this hands-on, interactive experience!

💡A couple days later, we kept the energy going in our virtual class 💻 with Krystle back again to guide us through a conversation on authenticity in teaching.

🔥 Key takeaways:
💫 Be true to yourself as a teaching artist
🤝 Authenticity is magnetic
🎯 Trust that what you’re offering is exactly what someone out there needs

Huge thank you to @krystleballer and @werockclt for an inspiring week!💛

The first CTA event was a success! 🎉 It is an extraordinary group—joyful, inspiring, and deeply connected. 💖When it was time to leave, no one wanted to go! Over the course of the day, we focused on outlining the program and setting both individual and collective goals for the group. 🚀🎯

Excited to see what this inspiring group accomplishes in the weeks ahead! Their energy and passion are truly something special, and I have no doubt they’ll achieve amazing things together.👏

We were honored to have Makayla Binter as our first guest facilitator. Thank you makaylabinter_

A special shoutout to @ellafaeart for developing and leading this program and @artwalksclt for their fiscal sponsorship!

We are thrilled to introduce the 10 incredible artists selected for the Art Beyond Certified Teaching Artist Program! With 60 applicants, the selection process was incredibly tough, and these individuals stood out for their passion, creativity, and dedication to arts education.💡

Over the next 10 weeks, they will embark on a transformative journey—learning best practices in community engagement, refining their creative offerings, and growing as both artists and educators. 🖍️🤝 Through hands-on training, mentorship, and collaboration, they’ll gain the confidence and tools needed to bring their artistic vision into the classroom and beyond. 🚀

Upon completion of the program, participants will receive their Certified Teaching Artist Certificate from Art Beyond🎓🏆—equipping them with the skills to inspire our community through the power of art. 🎨💫

We can't wait to see their progress and support them in achieving their teaching dreams! 🌱✨ Stay tuned as we follow their journey and celebrate their growth! 🙌

Two years ago I decided to take my dream of developing a Certified Teaching Artist program and put pen to paper. I wished to take my 20 years of experience in curriculum development and teaching artistry and share my joy of teaching with fellow artists.

And I am over the moon to announce that thanks to the Opportunity Fund, @artwalksclt, and supportive community partners, we are officially launching the Art Beyond Certified Teaching Artist Training!!

Recognizing the incredible talent within our creative community, the Art Beyond CTA program is designed to help teaching artists—both aspiring and experienced—build confidence, develop their practice, and connect with opportunities to share their passion.

I am deeply grateful to have the honor of empowering creatives to share their skills and inspire others through the arts.
