The 2024 Summer Program began June 3 and concluded July 3 with an open portfolio review. Classes were held daily, Monday through Friday, 8a to 1p either at our previous host Pace University or a local field trip. All instruction is in-person only in NYC.

Participants will gain the best experience in the program if they have had some practical on-set experience (as a set pa, student film production designer, day playing union set dresser, etc.) and know they’re interested in a long term career in the general art dept, but not exactly sure which specific department(s) yet. You don’t need to have drawing abilities, but any artistic skills are a bonus.

We are looking for trainees who are self-motivated, team players eager to challenge themselves with a new range of skills. There are no educational requirements or age limitations. No prior experience in film or theater is required. taken in New York, New York by @artcraftnyc

We prepare trainees for the workplace by not just teaching the necessary skills within the art department, but also best practices on collaborating with core department head peers.
