Experience the “PEOPLE MATTER” Exhibition at Artelli Macau now.

Crystal Wai Man Chan (@crystalwmchan), born and raised in Macau, is an artist whose practice spans painting and sound installation. With academic credentials from the School of Visual Arts in New York (BFA) and Purchase College (MFA), her work is deeply influenced by the cultural shifts of her homeland and her experiences living abroad. Chan’s art evokes affect and atmosphere through expressive brushstrokes, isolated figures, and evocative soundscapes, exploring the intricate relationship between humans and their environments.

Jonni Cheatwood (@jonni_cheatwood) is an interdisciplinary artist whose vibrant, layered work fuses expressive brushwork with bold color to explore themes of identity, abstraction, and materiality. Drawing on his Afro-Brazilian heritage and Southwestern influences, Cheatwood challenges traditional artistic boundaries with a diverse practice that spans abstract and figurative painting as well as textiles.

Born in Sendai, Japan, in 2001, Issei Suzuki (@issei.132) is a rising artist whose talent has garnered widespread acclaim. From winning prestigious contests to collaborating with global brands like adidas and being featured on Fuji Television, Suzuki has quickly become a standout figure in contemporary art. His works harmonize opposing elements, marked by distinctive curvatures and an evolving “visual language”. Drawing inspiration from Japanese traditions and the philosophy of “wabi-sabi”, Suzuki reinterprets the elegance of ukiyo-e through a contemporary lens.

Sunscreen isn’t the only thing layered here🏖️

Benjamin Kidder Hodges (@tabletchairwall) is an artist and anthropologist originally from Richmond, Virginia, whose art draws on folklore, mythology, and media archaeology to uncover overlooked histories and imagine possible futures. A Fulbright grantee with a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin, Hodges has exhibited internationally, including at the Art Macao Biennale and SVA Gramercy Gallery in New York.

Artelli’s latest exhibition, “PEOPLE MATTER” reimagines the human experience through contemporary portraiture.

Konstantin Bessmertny (@konstantin_atelier) is one of the most distinguished artists working in Asia today. Born in the former USSR and based between Macau and Hong Kong, Bessmertny brings over three decades of artistic mastery to his bold, thought-provoking works. Known for his chaotic compositions and surreal landscapes, Bessmertny’s art is rich in contradictions and absurdities.
