Art is for everyone. It doesn’t have to be fancy. It doesn’t have to be perfect. 👌

Making art is about expression. About stepping out of time to connect with something unexplainable. For me, it’s a way to process without words.

I’ve been tracking my menstrual cycle through my journals for the last decade and they look something like this. Shoutout to @anamariazabala and @_aya_ora_ for showing me the way 🌈

Every time I create a new monthly calendar, I use the same basic structure, elements, and language that’s personal to me to track changes. But the designs that grow around it are always different. I simply take time for myself to create. There’s no need for it to ‘become’ anything.

‘Linaje’ 2025 💎
Acrylic on canvas.

FINE ART PRINTS AVAILABLE SOON in a limited series.

[Español abajo]

I’m happy to finally share a special commission made last year for @maternidadlaluz_birthcenter ✨ It was made to hold the path of every soul making its way to earth.

A (placenta) tree or roots support the growth of footprints - impressions on heart shaped leaves - marking the birth of each baby born at the clinic. In this way, ‘Linaje’ is a collaborative journey involving each family, their support team of midwives and students, and the passage of time. It’s special to see how the tree grows 🩵

A mother sits at a spring, safe-keeping a well of memories. Roots tap into her ancestral lineage. She meditates and connects with her higher self and baby. She sits within a powerful energy that comes from beyond her. There is peace, calm, quiet, and stillness. Her presence is reassuring. I hope the pregnant mothers that look into her eyes are reminded to trust in themselves 🧘🏽‍♀️

Saunatonttu - Sauna Elves 🌲

A small collection of saunatonttu featured in their respective Finnish homes 🪵 🔥 🧖

Saunatonttu are small creatures that dwell in the warmth of the sauna, household spirits tasked with keeping the peace, quiet, and cleanliness of the space.

I made these in Costa Rica and brought them in my suitcase all the way to Finland, small gifts for friends as a way to share my pottery and bridge the lands through folklore.

Finnish sauna - whether in the home, the cabin, the forest, or the islands in the archipelago, whether built of wood in a 100 year old house, or made in a tent - wherever you partake, it’s an experience to remember.

Owl woman🦉 A gift for my mama.

Had so much fun with this vase! First time throwing two larger cylinders and connecting them into one taller vessel. This was one of the assignments in @matiasbraunceramics course this year. He wanted us to start thinking about throwing bigger items.

Also love this trap glaze in Matias’s studio which happens to be semi transparent over white slip!! This vase is far from perfect (even stuck to the shelf I think😬) but was honestly so fun to make and experiment with. Also the glaze is almost running out and I’m not sure this random mix can be replicated. Just one of those “one of a kind” kind of moments that makes this even sweeter 🤗

What happens when you can just let go without thinking about the outcome? Not usually easy for me to do in art but it was very fun to play with.

Commission for @alizewild 🐋

A pair of manta-bowls!

Many years ago, I was on a boat leaving Malpaís. We were headed toward the peak of Cabo Blanco. When I leaned over the edge to look down at the water, I was blown away.

De repente boom 🤯 A giant Manta Ray gliding through the water.

One of those moments that stays with you, that changes your perspective of the world, that reminds you you’re in the right place at the right time.

I did not know these creatures were so large. And so peaceful. It looked like it was flying, the sky somehow mirrored into the water with every movement. Definitely one of the most amazing encounters I’ve had with an animal. Never seen one since!

These bowls were inspired by that moment and the Manta Ray that filled me with wonder. Made for a dear friend and her love of the ocean. This set is made for every day use. Practical. Meant to hold every meal.

Nothing like eating from a handmade pot as you manifest your dreams into reality. Have you tried it yet?
