Next stop:📍MICA 📚🍾 I feel so incredibly honored to have been accepted into the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Curatorial Practice program at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Words can’t really express the feeling of overwhelming gratitude I’ve been experiencing since getting this email... and 6 months ago, I would’ve never expected to be here. I haven’t even finished my bachelors degree yet but I was recruited on the strength of my experience, and awarded a $26k merit scholarship😩).. even as I child i’ve always let my heart and my passion guide me, and I became curator because I felt led to create spaces for artists to shine, in ways that weren’t offered to me growing up. Curating is a big part of my life’s work, and becoming a master of this work is incredibly important to me. It’s wild to say, but when I was updating my resume for my application, I realized I’ve been curating for almost 10 years now, and I’ve loved every second of it. There’s still much more work do, and I know this experience will be a major catalyst in the achievement of my goals. ——— Big thank you to @sunrara and José Ruiz for your guidance and assistance throughout this process. And thank you to @derrickadamsny for believing in me and playing a major role in my growth and development as a curator on a global scale. —— I especially appreciate every single family member, friend, and supporter that have come to my shows, offered love/advice, and affirmed me along this journey. Thank you for having my back and not giving up on me. I truly, truly couldn’t have done it without you all. 🩶

spent my father’s day this year present and enjoying my daughter, my dad, and my family/friends. also looked at a million old videos and pictures over the last 4 years. my baby girl is growing up and i love every second of it 🥹 its a privilege and an honor to be her dad. its my favorite title, and it always will be. 🩶 by @artfitzyou

got to meet @destinconrad after an absolutely phenomenal performance @keystonekorner last night. not only is he one of my favorite artists but after this show, I saw how much personality and charisma he brings to the stage and I was enamored.. he performed his Jazz album Whimsy, along with some fireee new records from the upcoming deluxe.. “Whimsy!”. and the band? one the best groups of musicians I’ve ever witnessed on stage. big thank you to my friends @nyannah.j for the invite and @keithhollandd for being a catalyst for connection. this was a show i’ll never forget. definitely taking notes. 🩶 taken in Keystone Korner Baltimore by @artfitzyou
