What an extraordinary honor to meet and speak with Max Ginsburg tonight at The Art Guild in Port Washington.

At 95-years-old, Max is not only a master of American realism, but an artist whose career has spanned more than seven decades as a painter, illustrator and educator. His work and teaching have influenced generations of artists, making the opportunity to hear his thoughts and speak with him personally something I won’t soon forget.

I’m especially honored that Max served as the Juror of Awards for The Art Guild’s Body of Work Juried Competition & Exhibition, and that my photographic piece, "Her Name is Jenn, " was selected for the exhibition.

The show explores the human figure as a means of conveying identity, emotion, lived experience and personal narrative, ideas that are deeply connected to why I made this photograph in the first place.

There are moments in an artist’s journey when simply being in the room—with the work, with other artists, and with someone who has devoted a lifetime to seeing humanity through art—means something.

Tonight was one of those moments.

Grateful to Max Ginsburg and for the opportunity, and incredibly proud to see "Her Name is Jenn" on these walls.

Body of Work at The Art Guild at Elderfields Preserve on view from September 10–26, 2026.
