Skeleton Tree - Day 28 of #songtoberart2024 #songtoberart A creepy tree for today 💀🎃 What do you see? I created this with a few layers of watercolours and final shading and texture with soft pastels and watercolour pencils! The texture of trees always works well as a sketch so I felt colour pencils were needed to enhance the watercolours🎨 swipe to see the layers lift away

Some more detail on my latest cat commission 🐈 This was a great idea to get a couple of prints along side the original, I always get my prints from @print.work as the paper is 100% recycled materials! I had so much fun painting this and I would love to do more, message me for more info on my pricing 🤗

The Birds - Day 1 of #songtoberart #songtoberart2024 The New Zealand Tūī. I was lucky enough to see and hear this bird in person on my trip to NZ this summer 😍
Swipe for some process pics, I really like the colours in the first couple of stages but I can never help myself adding more detail 😆 by @artisticallyalexandra

Have you thought about the ingredients in your paint or what goes into making paper? Follow along as I share my journey of learning about why a lot of art materials are not vegan, which brands have alternatives and how you can make your own with alternatives!

Bear with me as I try to make these videos engaging and educational.

My latest pet portrait commission 🫶🏻 for this one I very quickly found I was having to really take my time and build very light layers, it was patience and a lot of trust the process, I was worried about the eyes at one point and thought I might have to start again, but I kept going and ended up really happy with the final painting! Swipe to see some pictures of some of the layers. I don’t advertise my commissions very much but if you’re ever wanting to commission me or aren’t sure if I’m taking commissions or have any specific request drop me a dm on here!

I will be taking these new prints to @westgatehallcanterbury tomorrow for the makers market organised by @candcmarkets come along for Christmas gifts, cards and just all round local crafty goodness. The original of 3 of these have already sold, the tree is still available as the original! Let me know if anyone would want these prints made available online 🥰 I’m slowly building my selections of prints/products so feeling more of a pull to finally make a website which I’ve been meaning to do for the past year 😅 reminder that all of my prints are printed on paper that’s made from 100% post consumer waste.

Here is some more from the @domestika course with @adolfoserra this exercise was experimenting with different ways of recreating a painting. I chose my favourite- Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose by John Singer Sargent (swipe to the end for the actual painting) Of course I put my favourite first. I really like the 3rd one as it looks like ghosts 👻 and I had a lot of fun with the collage one. The image of Maggie Smith I found in a random magazine, I thought she had the perfect hair to match the girls in the painting😂

Bit different to my usual art but I just started a course on @domestika with @adolfoserra and one of the first tasks is to draw yourself as an animal and I really surprised myself with it so thought I’d share on here.

Finally did another market, back in @westgatehallcanterbury with @candcmarkets pleased with my set up and use of sheer curtains as a table cloth😆 looked much better than the pink fabric I bought last year that was too small for the table. Also the neutral colour goes with the wood colours and doesn’t takeaway from the art. I sold 3 original paintings and I’m very pleased with myself! I’ll be back again on November 29th!😁 taken in The Westgate Hall, Canterbury by @artisticallyalexandra

Day 27 was a California Condor. I think this has to be one of my faves, I used watercolour and gouache again for this one. I don’t think it needs any line art over top I could have used pen for the hairs but I quite enjoy using a fine brush for details. My partner felt I should make it clear this is in fact not a made up bird and is very real. 😄
