Designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich in 1929, Barcelona Pavilion's walls cease to behave as boundaries. Planes of glass, marble and onyx slide through an open composition, guiding movement while allowing the interior to dissolve almost imperceptibly into the outside.

A slender structure, expansive horizontality and reflecting pools heighten this sense of continuity, while travertine, green marble and golden onyx lend richness without ornament.

Here, luxury lies in material, proportion and precision. Architecture becomes less about enclosure, and more about the experience of moving through space.
