#ArtWithArtize: Sunlight, water, steamy atmosphere, and dancing reflections lend a heavy dose of dynamic energy to this spectacular watercolour by Winslow Homer, the pioneering 19th-century, self-taught American artist. Luxury bath brand Artize is curating poignant artworks representative of historic art movements for its digital platforms and its latest addition to the virtual gallery is this somewhat impressionistic scene sketched by Homer. Using the highly unpredictable wet-on-wet technique, in which one paints on previous layers of wet paints before they dry out, the artist renders a dreamscape featuring a casual moment of fishermen communicating with each other. Homer's seminal work that emphasized human-nature relationships redefined the landscape of American art. Their new rainjoy LUMOS range, crafted with perfection, brings one closer to elements of nature: water, mist, light, and rain. Channelling a similar energy paired with their design philosophy into their latest story for AD India, Artize highlights 5 Impressionist Artists who redefined what it meant to paint light and water. Read about how legendary impressionists the likes of Camille Pissarro, Édouard Manet, Alfred Sisley, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and of course, Claude Monet put feelings and associations of water above its distinct reality; thereby ushering a bold new era in the world of art. #ArtWithArtize: Luxury bath brand Artize is curating a virtual gallery of all things art, design, and architecture on its digital platforms. Making its way through the numerous art movements across borders and time, the brand's recent finding includes the iconic Chartres Cathedral, a masterpiece of French Gothic architecture in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. One of the earliest examples of buildings that daringly began to soar towards the sky, the cathedral saw masons and architects refine their technique as they breathed a lightness into the buildings, allowing them to reach greater heights. It took a quarter of a century to build. After a fire devastated the pre-existing building in 1194, construction started again and finished in 1220. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the cathedral has some of the finest medieval stained glass windows, intricate sculptures, painted decorations that have survived spectacularly, making it the best preserved example of Gothic art and architecture. #Artize #BornFromArt Image: Notre-Dame de Chartres Cathedral, c. 1194-1220 (Photo credit: Wikimedia Commons) Explore other poignant artworks offering glimpses of the past, present, and future, hosted on @artize.in (www.artize.com) #BornFromArt #GothicArt #Cathedral #FrenchGothic #virtualgallery #historicart #artform #art_daily #artinspiration #worldofartists #Museumvisit #VirtualArtClass #ArtHistory #artoftheday #Architecture #MedievalArchitecture #GothicArchitecture #FrenchGothicArchitecture #Skyscraper #worldheritagesite

#ArtWithArtize: Luxury bath brand Artize is curating a virtual gallery of all things art, design, and architecture on its digital platforms. Making its way through the numerous art movements across borders and time, the brand's recent finding includes these porcelain pots (Korean: dalhangari), unique to the Joseon dynasty in Korea and dating back to the second half of the 18th century. Colloquially referred to as "moon jars", owing to their lunar-reminiscent form, they embody the Josean ideals of restraint, simplicity, austerity and modesty. Because they are too large to form on the potter’s wheel (each piece was taller than 40 cms), the upper and lower hemispheres were made separately and joined. Minimalism might seem like a modern concept but one look at the smoothness of the moon jar's surfaces, the slight imperfections in the glaze, or the wide expanses of white unmarred by patterns or designs would be enough for any present-day connoisseur to confidently label it as “minimal”.
