🎨AfroItalian Renaissance | Art + Fashion — No. 5 ✨

📍Il Rinascimento Dorato — The Golden Renaissance

Gold does not whisper.
It signals a turning of time.
Across the canvas, a crown ignites—
crimson meeting molten gold—
as though history itself is being reforged in fire and light.

This is a renaissance as ritual,
where colour becomes coronation.
Rooted in Ulalo, the ceremonial red cloth of the Ososo people, @peopleofososo
The fashion carries memory, authority, and celebration.
Hand-spun, locally dyed, and shaped by ancestral skill,

Ulalo stands beside Ukperori blue,
each thread woven on traditional looms,
each hue earned through patience, mastery, and legacy.

Here, Florentine gold and Ososo red
do not compete—
they converge,
forming a single, radiant force of renewal.

When traditions meet, they create a new language.

In Bronze Conversation, the sculptural memory of European Renaissance tradition meets the geometry, rhythm and symbolism of Nigerian visual culture.

Teal and gold evoke permanence and memory. Ona-inspired motifs bring movement, identity and a distinctly African visual language into the dialogue.

This is not a clash. It is a conversation.

A meeting of two traditions, two histories and different ways of seeing the world.

90 YEARS OF GOD’S FAITHFULNESS | PART 3 🇮🇹❤️

Today brought back so many memories!

📍 Twenty-four years ago, in 2002, Commendatore Giuliano Sottani and his team brought our Nigerian delegation to Piazza del Duomo in Florence. Together with artists from other countries, we explored the city before the international painting competition, immersing ourselves in the theme: “Florence in the Eyes of the World.”

Today, upon arriving in Florence for Papa’s 90th birthday, I headed straight back to the Duomo.

The morning sun was spectacular! As I walked from Santa Maria Novella towards Piazza del Duomo, I couldn’t help but admire the artist side of God—revealed in the breathtaking skies, the clouds in their extraordinary shapes and forms, and the beautiful interplay of light, architecture, and nature.

For a moment, I took it all in. Twenty-four years later, Florence still inspires me, reminding me that creativity is everywhere when we learn to see.

Next stop: the beautiful Greve in Chianti, where my Italian Papa awaits! ❤️

Oh, how I love Tuscany! 🇮🇹✨

A little unexpected. A little magical. And very much my journey. ✨

Two days ago, I was asked to share a career video for an opportunity in the Creative Sector. I asked for a few days to record and submit it.

Then, just over 24 hours later, I received a message from Mahmoud Daya, one of the co-creators of DicapriYou, now Yume.

I submitted my details for the video generation — and the result is amazing.

What touched me most is how the video captures a part of me — the pathway to the Creative Economy.

From engineering to project management.
From sustainability and innovation to art and design.
From ideas to platforms, partnerships and institutions.
From Africa to Europe.

Sometimes, it takes someone else looking at your journey to reveal the thread connecting it all.

I have always been building. The materials have simply changed.

Thank you, Mahmoud Daya, for this beautiful creative interpretation and for the valuable perspective and feedback from our collaborators in Europe.

I look forward to working with the team as we proceed to shape what comes next in Europe and Africa.

This is only another chapter. ✨

I have always been fascinated by what connects us before we begin to define ourselves by borders.

Memory Atlas begins with a simple but profound proposition: before we connect, we must first understand what we carry.

The symbols, textures, and forms feel like fragments of an ancient language—traces of knowledge, craftsmanship, and memory passed across generations.

This work is about the wisdom we inherit and the possibilities we create from it.
