Created in my storage unit. Now on the walls of Forma Gallery. 🎨🔥

This piece is featured in my solo exhibition, “BECOMING.” Every layer holds a little of that journey—making room to create, trusting my instincts, and bringing what I see to life.

Swipe to see it imagined in a new space. If you have the chance, go by Forma Gallery and check it out in person!

A lot can happen in a year. But none of it happens alone.

A few moments captured with Demetrius Bing, Graeme, and Aubrey during our UNDERDOG celebration.

These are the people who show up, bring their talents to the table, believe in the vision, and help turn ideas into something real.

Building Drummond Studio Gallery has never been just about the art on the walls. It’s about the relationships, the collaborations, and the people who help build something bigger than ourselves.

One year in, and we’re just getting started.

A YEAR AGO, WE WERE THE UNDERDOGS. LOOK AT US NOW.

Last night was more than an exhibition opening. It was a celebration of everything we’ve built, everything we’ve overcome, and everyone who believed in the vision.

One year of Drummond Studio Gallery. One year of taking chances, creating opportunities, building community, and proving what can happen when you refuse to give up.

To every artist who trusted me with their work, every collector who invested in our vision, every person who walked through our doors, and everyone who showed up last night, THANK YOU.

Seeing the gallery filled with so much love, energy, and support reminded me why I started this journey in the first place.

We didn’t just open a gallery. We created a space where artists have a voice, stories matter, and community comes together through art.

And we’re just getting started.

If you missed the opening, your next opportunity to experience UNDERDOG is Friday, October 16, from 6–8 PM. Join us to explore the exhibition, connect with the art, and collect original works from our featured artists.

And by the way, we still have a few of the limited Drummond × Bing collaborative originals available! DM us for more information or to inquire about collecting one.

Some sentences only need two words. 🤍

I AM by @artofbing is the kind of painting that changes a room the moment it’s hung. We read it as a daily reminder of the power that comes from showing up fully as yourself.

Demetrius Bing is a self-taught abstract painter raised in Charleston's Union Heights neighborhood. He was the poster artist for the MOJA Arts Festival's 40th anniversary, seven of his paintings appeared on the set of Netflix's Outer Banks, and he is represented by @formacontemporaryart.

I AM · Acrylic on canvas · 48 × 36 in · $5,500

Available to acquire now through Walk Through, a fine art exhibition benefiting @mysistershouseinc.

50% of every sale supports survivors of domestic violence and their children.

Join us Thursday, October 22 at the Gibbes Museum of Art!

TWO ARTISTS. TWO VISIONS. ONE COLLABORATION.

This one has been a long time in the making.

Arun Drummond and Demetrius Bing have come together to create something special. Two distinct artistic styles, two creative journeys, and a shared belief in the power of collaboration.

Introducing the DRUMMOND x BING COLLECTION.

Just 10 miniature original works of art, each measuring 6 x 6 inches. No two are alike. Each one brings together our individual styles, materials, and creative perspectives into something neither of us could have made alone.

And now you have an opportunity to own a piece of that story.

These works will make their official debut this Friday at UNDERDOG, our one year anniversary exhibition at Drummond Studio Gallery.

UNDERDOG | OPENING NIGHT
Friday, October 9
5–9 PM
Drummond Studio Gallery
12 Line St., Charleston, SC

10 originals. $595 each.

This collaboration is about more than making art together. It’s about what becomes possible when artists support one another, share their gifts, and create something bigger than themselves.

Come celebrate with us. Come experience the work. And maybe take a little piece of this collaboration home. by @artofbing

The B-sides of “Becoming.” 🎨📸

A few candid moments from the fall artwalk at Forma Gallery during my solo exhibition. Between presenting the paintings and talking about the work, there were these little moments of love and connection that meant just as much to me.

Thank you to everyone who came out, spent time with my art, and showed love. Grateful for the chance to share what I create—and for the people who keep showing up as I continue becoming. 🙏🏾

I’ve watched this gallery grow from an idea into a space that continues to make room for artists like us.

To be part of UNDERDOG feels personal.

This exhibition brings together artists who helped shape the first year of Drummond Studio Gallery. Different voices. Different stories. Different ways of making. But there’s something that connects all of us: we kept showing up.

Being an underdog isn’t about where you start. It’s about what you do when the odds aren’t in your favor.

I’m proud to stand alongside these artists and proud to celebrate one year of a gallery that believed in the work and the people behind it.

Come see what we’ve been building.

“Crosscurrents”
11*14

Sometimes my mind moves faster than words can keep up. Painting gives all that movement somewhere to go.

Layers of turquoise, black, and bursts of color—each mark adding to the conversation. There’s energy here, tension, and room to find your own meaning.

What catches your eye first?

The Art Walk of this fall season at Forma Contemporary was a success! Being surrounded by so much love and seeing people connect with my work made this a night to remember. I also sold a piece—“Somewhere Between Hope and History” found a new home! 🙏🏾🎨 Thank you to its new collector for supporting my work.

A special thank you to Wendy and Griffith for all the love and support—for working with me, promoting me, and believing in my artwork. From having my work front and center as soon as you walk in, all the way to the back of the gallery, you gave my art room to be seen. That means so much to me.

Thank you to everybody who showed up. Friends, familiar faces, people I’ve connected with online and finally got to meet in person, and people I’ve crossed paths with along the way—you came out and showed love. I appreciate every conversation, every kind word, and every person who took time to be part of this night.

And to my mom: thank you for showing up, as always. You are the star and the angel in my life. Having you beside me, watching my art career grow and being part of this journey, means more than I can put into words. I love you. ❤️

Thank God for the growth, the opportunities, and the people who keep believing in me. It’s only up from here.

For the first time, Arun Drummond and Demetrius Bing put their work, ideas, and energy into the same piece.

Two artists.
Two perspectives.
Two stories.

But when they came together, something new happened.

And before the doors even opened, someone put a red dot on it.

That moment isn’t just about a sale.

It’s about friendship. Trust. Respect.
It’s about two people being willing to put their egos aside, create together, and make each other stronger.

Because maybe that’s what being an UNDERDOG is really about.

You can fight your way to the top alone.

But we can win together.

And there’s an underdog in all of us.
