Art is more than just visuals. It is color, emotion, and hidden stories waiting to be told. What story are you trying to share through your work?

Art isn't forced. It's organic. Letting colors speak and experimenting with new shades to translate deep emotions onto the canvas. Just feel it.

Art is play. It is about removing the seriousness and connecting with your inner child to find true inspiration. Let your work speak for itself.

After the accident, I had to learn my face again. This piece captures the distortion, the scars, and the journey of seeing myself for the first time.

Now Reading: Still Becoming
Words by Demetrius Bing

“I’m still becoming.”

In his own words, abstract expressionist Demetrius Bing traces the years of day shifts and midnight painting that led to Full Time, his solo exhibition featuring seven works from the series Outer Banks.

An essay on perseverance, recovery, and the moment an artist realizes the life they’ve been building already has a name.

Read the full editorial on Peninsulamag.com, under Art of Bing.

The exhibitions
Becoming: Forma Contemporary, through October 31
Underdog: Drummond Studios, October 9 (the gallery’s one year anniversary)
Full Time: Public Works, November 19 to January 16. Opening reception November 19, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Peninsula is written with the artists, writers, and creatives who tell their own stories here. Step inside. DMs are open.
