This past Saturday we welcomed nearly 2500 people for the first ever Renaissance Fair in Cobb at The Art Station, and it was truly something special. ⭐️

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all of our vendors, attendees, performers, staff, and volunteers for being a part of our inaugural Big Shanty Bazaar and bringing this incredible event to life. This is the biggest event that The Art Station has ever hosted, and we are so proud to have had such a successful first year and to be able to provide a space to support real human artists and bring together our community in Kennesaw!

The Big Shanty Bazaar will be returning next year, and we want your feedback to help make it even bigger and better. Visit the link in our bio to fill out our visitor feedback form to help us improve future events!

Complete a Bob Ross painting in just one class…even if you have never painted before! That’s the magic of the techniques used by Bob Ross in his popular TV series, the Joy of Painting ®. Bob Ross Certified Instructor Jeremy Rogers walks you through step by step how to paint a beautiful Ross landscape (or seascape), complete with "happy trees"! This is a light-hearted painting class totally focused on creating beauty and having fun! (Only Bob Ross supplies are used to give you an authentic experience.)

***Please bring a roll of paper towels, small pkg of baby wipes and a cardboard box to carry your piece of art home with you—the paint will still be wet! The box needs to be big enough to hold a 12”x16” canvas.

Our juried exhibition, Southern Superstition is currently open for viewing through November 7th, 2026.

Superstitions in the American South are rooted in folklore that has been largely shaped by a blend of African, Native American, and European cultural influences. These beliefs and long-standing traditions have been passed down both orally and through text in an attempt to explain bouts of bad or good fortune, weather, and health, as well as to illuminate the unknown. Cultural tradition can dictate the colors we surround ourselves with, what we eat and when, how we celebrate holidays, and the methods we employ to navigate challenges in our lives.

Some superstitions are familial, and may concern omens, cautionary rituals in the home, sayings passed down from a parent to a child, or mealtime traditions. Other superstitions belong to broader local or regional legends shared across communities. Communities may tie meaning to signs in the natural world and everyday objects while telling cautionary tales to prevent misfortune. These superstitions serve as cultural touchstones that preserve history and reinforce a sense of identity and continuity across generations.

This juried exhibit showcases works that explore the folklore, traditions, and superstitions of the American South.

A reception will be held on November 7th, from 10am - 4pm, with an awards ceremony at 2:30pm, alongside the Big Shanty Bazaar.
