The latest article released from our archives is a 2012 conversation between @annabel_dover and @paulkindersley from Arty 31: Tainted Love.

This issue, and the exhibition which accompanied it, examined a very particular kind of unrequited and deeply felt, obsessional love. Dover & Kindersley interviewed each other about their own tainted loves, which include Anthony Perkins and Modigliani. Their conversation also takes in (as the sub heading suggests) high waisted trousers, quilted sleeves and a bit of crying!

To celebrate our 50th issue we are releasing 50 articles from our archives. ‘Saint Diana’ by Michael Carter from Arty 9: Our Idols is now available to read at www.artymagazine.com - link in bio.
The article is accompanied by @alexmichon1968 ‘s visual interpretation of the newly minted Saint.

‘So how would St Diana be represented in art? My bet is as a sumptuously dressed princess in the latest fashions of late medieval England, holding a heart with a crown on it, to symbolise her desire to be queen of hearts.’

To celebrate publishing our 50th issue we are going to feature highlights from our archive in our feed - starting at issue 1 - the cover of which is ‘Anticapitalist Rioters in Marc Jacobs Shoes’ by @alexmichon1968

Issue 1, which was produced in a very small run, was given away at Central St Martins - the complete issue is reproduced in its entirety in our anthology book Arty Greatest Hits (copies available from our website or at @bookartbookshop ).

The fantastic Delaine Le Bas is showing at Frieze this year - you can find her at @yamamotokeikorochaix in the Focus section. Delaine has been a long-standing Arty contributor. In 2001 her artwork was on the cover of Arty 5: Labels. Insider the issue @alexmichon1968 wrote ‘Outlaws: Looking at the work of Damian, Delaine and Julian Le Bas’

The issue is long sold out but the highlights appear in our anthology of the first 20 issues of Arty - Arty Greatest Hits. This chunky little book is still available from our website and is half price - that is at £5 rather than the £10 printed on the cover.

Arty mirrors is on the shelves at @aspexportsmouth - it’s our 50th issue!!!!
