Leaders love to have the answer, but the best answer usually belongs to the person closest to the problem, not the person furthest from it in the org chart.

Asking for a recommendation instead of handing down a decision does two things at once. It gets you better information and it builds someone else's judgment. Good leadership is less about being right and more about knowing who to ask.
