Black belt.

There are a lot of years, miles, injuries, hard rounds, losses, wins, and lessons wrapped up in this moment.

But standing here receiving it from Professor Lovato means more to me than I can really put into words.

Professor, thank you for welcoming me into the gym over six years ago. It has been an absolute honor to represent Lovato’s Jiu-Jitsu, and HQ will always be my forever BJJ home.

I’m incredibly grateful for this achievement and everything that comes with it. But ultimately, this feels less like an ending and more like the beginning of a new chapter.

Plenty left to learn. Loads of competitions still to go. A lifetime of Jiu-Jitsu ahead.

Grateful. Honored. Just getting started.

Finally made it back to HQ and brought the hardware with me. 🥋🏆

Bronze in my division. 🥉
Silver in the absolute. 🥈

A lot of work went into getting there, and even more went into the years of Jiu-Jitsu that got me to this point. Grateful to be able to come back to where so much of that work started and share these with Professor Lovato.

Still learning. Still chasing the next one.

A few of my favorite moments from Masters Worlds.

The upside-down, squirrely guard made plenty of appearances 😂 it’s been a staple of my game for a long time, and I really enjoyed some of the transitions I was able to put together.

Came out firing in my first match with some great top-game transitions, found the back, and finished with the choke.

I also left a LOT of back-taking opportunities on the table throughout the day. Definitely something I’ll be drilling until my teammates are sick of me 😂

More back attacks. More finishing. More refining the little details.

Really damn happy to be competing again and grateful for every round.

And yeah… the medals made it home. 🥉🥈

The medals came home. The performance didn’t.

After getting back to Omaha and rewatching all my matches, I’m honestly pretty disappointed in how I performed.

Bronze in Master 2 Brown Heavy.
Silver in the Absolute.

I got some good wins and fought my way through two divisions, but I know I’m capable of much more.

I was edged out by decision in the semifinal of my weight class. There were some controversial advantages awarded to my opponent, but at the end of the day, I should never have left it in the judges’ hands. I needed to be more aggressive and make the outcome undeniable.

Watching the matches back, I looked like someone who barely had a camp and was finally getting back to competing after dealing with injuries since Europeans in January.

And honestly… that’s pretty much what happened.

But that’s also the part I’m taking away from this tournament.

I’m healthy. I’m back competing. I’m back training consistently. And now I have a very clear picture of what needs to improve.

The medals are going on the wall, but the lessons are coming back to the mats with me here in Omaha.

Back to work. 👊🥋 #ibjjf #mastersworlds #bjjcompetition #brazilianjiujítsu #bjj taken in Las Vegas Convention Center by @aryry_bjj

Two medals. One hell of a day. 🥉🥈

Bronze in Master 2 Brown Heavy
Silver in the Absolute

Wasn’t my best performance, but I got some wins, battled through two divisions, and most importantly I had a damn good time competing. Just grateful to be back on the mats doing what I love.

Huge thank you to Professor @shilohrolls for the coaching and support throughout the event, and to Professor @lovatojrbjj for the amazing competition training sessions and for being such an incredible inspiration, always leading from the front.

And to everyone at @aresbjjomaha thank you for welcoming me in and putting in the rounds with me while I’ve been in the States. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to train.

And of course, a huge thank you to @themightybarlow , @chelsea__leah , and everyone at Escapology back home in the UK. Thank you for all the support, the hard rounds, and for always giving me a place to sharpen my game when I’m home. I’m lucky to have such a great gym to call home. 🇬🇧

Grateful for the opportunity. Grateful for the battles. Grateful for the people who keep pushing me.

Back to work. 👊🥋

Last hard session before Master Worlds. 🥋🔥

What a day.

So great to have a few of the guys from Ares BJJ Omaha make the trip down to get some hard rounds in with Professor Lovato and the team. There’s nothing quite like getting pushed by people who make you better every time you step on the mat.

A few more hard rounds, a few more lessons, and then it’s time to put it all together.

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to represent @lovatobjjmma and @escapologybjj Cambridge, UK at Master Worlds.

Can’t wait to step on the mat and showcase my Jiu-Jitsu. 🇺🇸🥋

One more push. Then we compete.

Lisbon photo dump 🇵🇹

🥇 Gold — weight class
🥉 Bronze — absolute

Stepped onto the mats at the European Championship, tested myself against elite competition, and came away with hardware. Proud of the performance, the preparation, and the lessons earned out there.

After the battles, we soaked in the city with my beautiful wife @jemmaryan2 — great food, unreal views, and even better memories. Grateful for moments like these where hard work and life collide in the best way.

Obrigado, Lisbon. Until next time. ✨

Competed today at the IBJJF European Championship in Lisbon, Portugal 🇵🇹
High-level matches, tough brackets, and exactly the kind of pressure that sharpens the blade.

Thank you to my beautiful wife @jemmaryan2 for coming along and supporting me. Time to enjoy a mini holiday! 😍

Big thanks to our coaches at @escapologybjj — @themightybarlow and @chelsea__leah for coaching me through the event! 👊

Grateful for the preparation, the lessons, and the opportunity to test myself on one of the biggest stages in the sport.

Mount the World 🌍

A few weeks back at Escapology BJJ – Cambridge, we broke down the mount from entry to control to finish.
Details matter. Pressure matters. Intent matters.

Big thanks to everyone who showed up ready to learn and push the pace, and to @adam.alex_ for capturing the moments behind the lens 📸

More to come.

🇫🇷❄️ Tignes, France
A few laps from the holiday break—stringing together runs, chasing lines, and soaking in alpine speed.

Last post from this unreal snowboard trip before heading to Switzerland 🇨🇭 straight after the European Championships.
Grateful for the mountains, the movement, and the moments in between.

Back to work soon… but the legs and mind are recharged. 🏔️🏂
