🐍🧧 happy lunar new year from this proud sino-mauritian-american 🇨🇳🇲🇺

how lucky am I, the descended daughter of so many women before me who barely completed an elementary education and escaped poverty, to be able to live my dreams with an engineering degree from MIT now pursing a computer science doctoral degree elevating heritage textile craft to technological, scientific, and engineering importance and be on the cutting edge of AI research, at the age of 23.

even if the days ahead will be scary, I am so blessed to have all my friends, research community, a supportive lab and advisor, and quite possibly the love of my life alongside me as we defend more than just a dissertation in 5 years, but the life I’ve built here.♥️ by @asahteck
