Happy birthday to the coolest person I know!! I’m so proud of you!
(Yes I know I’m a day late, we were too busy having a fun day of sidequest and strangely cheap shoes)

Well, it’s national girlfriend day so now you’re all gonna have to hear me ramble about my girlfriend and how she’s literally the smartest, kindest, coolest, most resilient person I know, and how I admire her to my core! How did I get this lucky???

Yesterday, PhD student Amanda Shayna Ahteck presented their work on computationally designed knitted textiles. She dived into KnitScript, a high-level programming language for industrial knitting machines, and its use in aiding the production of complex knitted fabrics and textiles.

Shayna is advised by Megan Hofmann in the Accessible Creative Technologies Lab at the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University. They received their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2023.

As campus settles down and MIT begins to close for the holidays, we wanted to give a big THANK YOU to everyone who made this semester possible! From instructors to AV people to out-of-state friends, there are so many people not pictured who make this class run behind-the-scenes, so please join us in expressing our gratitude for them all. Thanks for the WILD ride 🥰

And a special shout-out to David Wallace for guiding us all and sharing his love and joy for product design! Working together in CADLAB everyday has been nothing short of entertaining and rewarding.

It’s been wild 🤘🏻
