It’s been 2 years sine the T4T film workshop. One of the sweetest summer week where we went swimming almost every day when it was sunny. Dysphoria and anxiety was at its lowest point, I believe it’s the place and the people ❤️ by @asarela.dewi

EMPATHY SUPPER – BERDIKARI
June 26 | 8 PM | @cinematheque.leipzig

What stories do we carry in our bodies, in our mouths? How do shared meals help us process the tension between trust and suspicion – and how might they support us in co-navigating uncertain futures together?

Responding to Mouth Archives’ exploration of the mouth as a site of memory and exchange, this participatory and cinematic dining performance by Ariel Orah & Asarela Dewi invites you to reflect on resilience, diasporic survival, and collective care.

Rooted in a decade of shared migration experience, Berdikari (Indonesian for “standing on one’s own feet”) becomes a gesture of self-reliance in times of crisis and exclusion.

Last October, @gryniverse invited me to co-teach a class at the university we went to together. It was the same class I attended years ago—the one that gave me first exposure and got me into filmmaking. So sharing knowledge in this class was personal and nostalgic.

Also grateful to my professor @ingerl for the opportunity ✨ by @asarela.dewi

In their contribution to “Nicht die Ersten” Tsepo Bollwinkel invites us to learn about the interventions it took to create and safeguard a trans and queer perspective in the Black movement in Germany. They also speak about the importance of intersectional trans and queer sensitive educational work, reflecting their own practice and experiences.
