Everyone wants to move fast.
Few are willing to slow down long enough to do it right.

Precision first. Speed follows.

The work doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. Different conditions, same commitment to getting better.

Day or night, the fundamentals of CQB remain the same. Understanding your equipment and its limitations is key to operating effectively under night vision.

Ascension instructors George and Kevin recently spent time in Tennessee teaching CQB to law enforcement, focusing on practical application, decision making, and building a strong foundation through quality training.

Trigger prep and trigger press are two different things.

Prep early, press when the shot is there. Cleaner inputs, better timing, more control.

Tactics are a topic I generally avoid with guests on the show. @ascensiontnc highlights some friction points he encounters when coaching/instructing/training tactics.

Zack Harrison of @ascensiontnc talks about what separates the ppl that elevate themselves from the ones who stay exactly the same year after year and real friction points in law enforcement training.

This time I sit down with Zack Harrison, founder of @ascensiontnc , and the conversation goes exactly where you’d hope: deep, honest, and unfiltered.

Zack’s name had been popping up for years across ranges and in conversations with law enforcement officers, always attached to the same kind of feedback. This guy cares. He slows down and makes sure you understand the why.

The back half of this episode is where it gets really good. We dig into the real friction points in law enforcement training culture: the failure to share lessons learned across agencies, the emotional attachment to tactics that blocks honest evaluation, the cop-out of ‘we can’t do what you guys did,’ and the uncomfortable truth that commitment, not resources, is often the actual limiting factor.

Speed is more than pulling the trigger faster.

It’s seeing what’s in front of you, processing the information, making the right decision, and handling the gun at the speed the problem demands.

See. Decide. Execute.
